About the Product

You’ll be working on a wellness tech platform built around smart scale hardware using BIA technology to provide users with precise data on body composition — fat %, lean mass, hydration, and more. The platform combines hardware innovation with a seamless digital health experience.

• Node.js (primary language)
• Google Cloud Platform: Firestore, Cloud Functions, App Engine, OAuth/JWT
• RESTful APIs

• 4 Mobile Engineers
• 1 Full-Stack Engineer
• 2 QA Engineers
• 1 Designer

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building production-level backend systems
• Strong expertise in Node.js
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (or at least one major cloud provider)
• Deep understanding of REST API design, versioning, security, and documentation
• Experience with OAuth/JWT, error handling, and caching
• Solid debugging and testing skills
• Fluent communication in English (daily contact with US-based team)
   

Nice to Have

• Basic experience with Python
• Experience working with Firestore and Cloud Storage
• Background in healthcare or working with sensitive data
• Familiarity with OpenAPI/Swagger
• Integrations with AI/ML services (e.g., Claude AI)
   

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable, secure REST APIs
• Build endpoints for client management, medical data processing, and clinical dashboards
• Integrate backend with hardware (BIA smart scale) and AI-based recommendation systems
• Optimize performance for large-scale healthcare data
• Ensure high API reliability, error handling, logging, and security (HIPAA compliance)
• Collaborate closely with mobile engineers, designers, and QA team
