Marketing Automation Manager

We are seeking a results-driven, strategic, and hands-on marketing professional to lead our lead generation, automation, and funnel-building efforts. You will build and scale multi-channel campaigns to drive qualified inbound and outbound leads for our networking and open-source tech solutions.

You will work closely with marketing leadership, technical content creators, and the sales team to create, automate, and optimize the full funnel โ€” from awareness to MQL/SQL handoff.

This is a critical, high-leverage role with room to grow into a leadership position as we scale.


Key Responsibilities:

Lead Generation & Funnel Strategy

  • Build and continuously optimize a multi-touch lead generation funnel (Top to Bottom - TOFU to BOFU).

  • Design and implement both inbound and outbound lead programs (email, LinkedIn, SEO-driven, community-led).

  • Develop and execute lead qualification criteria and scoring frameworks in collaboration with sales.

  • Own our marketing database health, enrichment, and segmentation.

Marketing Automation & Campaign Execution

  • Set up and manage marketing automation workflows (HubSpot / ActiveCampaign / similar).

  • Automate nurturing sequences for different personas and buyer stages.

  • Launch and iterate email and LinkedIn campaigns with clear A/B testing plans.

  • Work with event manager to support product marketing with targeted launches, webinars, and lifecycle campaigns.

Performance Marketing & Analytics

  • Build and manage dashboards to track lead velocity, cost per MQL (Marketing Qualified Lead), conversion rates, etc.

  • Monitor, test, and improve channel performance using analytics and data.

  • Coordinate with content and SEO teams to ensure organic lead flow from website and content.

Community & Partner Ecosystem

  • Collaborate with open-source communities (e.g., OpenLAN, Linux Foundation) to source technical leads.

  • Build and manage co-marketing programs and partnerships with ecosystem players.

Required Skills & Competencies

Technical & Platform Knowledge

  • Hands-on experience with CRM and Marketing Automation tools (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce, ActiveCampaign - we use HubSpot).

  • Strong understanding of B2B funnel dynamics, lead nurturing, and scoring.

  • Familiarity with LinkedIn Ads, email campaign platforms, and landing page builders.

  • Working knowledge of data enrichment tools, scraping, list building, and integrations via Zapier, Make, or similar.

Marketing Strategy & Execution

  • Experience in developing marketing plans and GTM (GoToMarket) strategies for complex B2B products.

  • Proven track record in driving Marketing/Sales Leads growth from technical or IT audiences.

  • Deep understanding of personal development, segmentation, and messaging strategy.

Growth Mindset

  • Ability to work cross-functionally with content, product, sales, and leadership.

  • Analytical and data-driven; comfortable testing and iterating rapidly.

  • Self-starter who can move from strategy to execution without heavy oversight.

Bonus / Nice to Have

  • Experience marketing to networking, Open Source, or developer communities.

  • Familiarity with open-source marketing tactics (GitHub stars, Reddit/HackerNews launches, etc.).

  • Knowledge of tools like Clearbit, Apollo.io, Phantombuster for outbound.
