Full Stack Developer (RoR/JS)

Our client provides a technology-driven, customer-centric and sustainable approach to ecommerce and last-mile logistics for businesses of all sizes – from local brands to large national retailers. They are building North America’s largest electric vehicle fleet to help bring sustainability to an industry notorious for its heavy impact on the environment. They are in high growth mode and building for the future, which is where you may come in.

 

On behalf of the client we are looking for a self-starter Full Stack Developer who shares the client's passion for Customer Obsession. In this dynamic role, you will play a crucial part in bringing fresh ideas from all areas, leading technical discussions and project implementation, and providing insight with regards to project planning, estimation, and prioritization.

 

Key responsibilities:

 

- Work cross functionally to deliver software and data modeling solutions to solve customer workflow challenges;
- Contribute to product reviews to identify requirements and use-cases, while managing project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables;
- Evaluate new technologies and tooling to improve architecture, performance, and security;
- Build and execute on best-practices around code convention, release management, and infrastructure;
- Take initiative and be responsible for technical solutions to data quality and workflow challenges

 

Minimum requirements:

 

- 3+ years of commercial work experience with backend development using Ruby on Rails;

- 2+ years of commercial work experience with frontend development using JavaScript/TypeScript;

- Demonstrated experience with cloud technologies (AWS, GCP), and CI/CD pipelines;

- Excellent communicator, self-driven mindset, recognizing opportunities to advance your craft and profession, learning from mistakes and moving beyond them;

- Strive to implement best-practices, holding a strong interest in sharing your discoveries and methodologies with those around you;

- Ability to learn other coding languages as needed;

- Ability for daily working time overlap (3+ hours) with North American colleagues (EST hours);

- Ability and willingness to take on a live coding challenge during your job interview;

- Upper-intermediate or higher level of English

 

Will be a plus:

 

- Work experience with React
