Senior Python (Django) Backend Engineer

Our client is a privacy-first technology company (cybersecurity domain) on a mission to help individuals remove personal data from the internet and regain control of their digital lives. Operating at the intersection of privacy tech and cybersecurity, the company protects both consumers and corporate employees from risks like identity theft, data breaches, and digital harassment.

Stage & Tech Stack 
— Product is live, scaling, and in active development (5 years)
— Technologies: Python, Django, Django REST Framework, Celery, PostgreSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ, AWS
— Methodology: Agile / Scrum

Requirements:

— 6+ years in Python and Django (Django is essential)
— Experience with Django REST Framework (DRF)
— Strong understanding of backend architecture, API design, and system performance
— Track record of owning features from ideation to deployment
— Upper Intermediate level of English
— Growth mindset, autonomy, and a sense of purpose

Responsibilities:

— Design, build, and maintain scalable Django backend services
— Deliver end-to-end features with performance and reliability in mind
— Participate in technical planning, architecture decisions, and code reviews
— Troubleshoot and optimise live production systems
— Collaborate closely with engineering and product stakeholders
— Contribute to DevOps, observability, and continuous improvement

Would be a plus:

— Knowledge of AWS, Kubernetes, or frontend tools (React, TypeScript)
— Familiarity with HTMX and Django admin customisation
— Previous production troubleshooting experience
