AQA Team lead Offline
About the Role
We are looking for a AQA Lead who can define and drive our entire quality strategy — from test automation to process improvements, from functional coverage to stakeholder collaboration. You’ll play a critical role in making sure our product is stable, trustworthy, and well-tested, even when documentation is incomplete or specs are unclear.
This is both a hands-on and strategic role: you'll set up automation pipelines, build the AQA process from the ground up, and act as a partner to Product, Engineering, and Ops to embed quality early in the development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
QA Strategy & Execution
- Define and implement a full AQA and QC strategy — tailored to a data-heavy, integration-driven product.
- Establish and own the test plan, test case repository, bug classification matrix, and overall quality gates.
- Champion the test pyramid: balance unit, integration, and E2E tests.
- Ensure all releases meet quality standards, including performance and edge case coverage.
Automation (AQA)
- Design and implement the test automation framework for UI, backend, and data validation testing.
- Select appropriate tools and frameworks for UI and API testing.
- Collaborate with developers to shift testing left and cover CI pipelines.
- Continuously improve speed and reliability of automated test coverage.
Cross-Team Collaboration
- Partner with Product, Tech, and Operations to discover test cases from features, not specs.
- Identify edge cases, system dependencies, and integration risks early.
- Proactively participate in planning, refinement, and demos to ensure quality at each stage.
- Provide transparency to stakeholders through reporting and dashboards.
Team & Process
- Lead and mentor QA engineers and manual testers (if present or hired later).
- Set up scalable processes for regression testing, bug triage, and feature sign-off.
- Drive culture of quality ownership across the team — not just within QA.
- Contribute to documentation, process improvement, and retrospectives.
Requirements
Must-Have Skills
- 4+ years in software QA, including 2+ years in a QA Lead or Senior QA role.
- Experience in both manual and automated testing — with a strong grasp of backend/API and UI testing.
- Proven track record of building or evolving QA strategies from scratch.
- Hands-on experience with test automation tools (e.g., Playwright, Selenium, RestAssured, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of test design techniques, bug lifecycle, regression strategies, and quality metrics.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills — especially in cross-functional environments.
Bonus Points
- Experience testing data-driven platforms, SaaS products, or systems without detailed specifications.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerized environments, and Git-based workflows.
- Understanding of QC (Quality Control) processes like sampling, reviews, and spot checks.
- Experience working in agile/scrum or hybrid environments.
What Success Looks Like
- Our product is shipped faster, with fewer bugs.
- We spot risks early — before users do.
- Teams ask QA for advice early, not as an afterthought.
- Automation covers core paths and runs reliably in CI.
- Quality becomes a shared goal, not just a QA task.
