Lead Embedded SW Engineer with WiFi / Bluetooth domain experience

We are looking for a Lead SW Engineer with a technical background in embedded software development projects to work with the largest manufacturer and distributor of household appliances in Europe and one of the leading ones in the world. You will be responsible for bringing next-generation home appliances to the market. 

Close cooperation with the team in Germany, including occasional business trips. The job is primarily remote, with occasional visits to the office.

 

Requirements:

 

Expert Level:

  • Problem Analysis: Ability to dissect complex issues and formulate actionable solutions.
  • Wi-Fi Drivers: Deep understanding and hands-on experience with developing and maintaining Wi-Fi drivers
  • IEEE 802.11: Expertise in the standards and protocols of Wi-Fi networking.
  • Wpa_supplicant/hostpad: Proficient in configuring and managing WPA Supplicant settings.
  • TCP/IP Protocols: Expert knowledge of TCP/IP networking protocols and their implementation.
  • Connman: Advanced skills in managing network connections using ConnMan.
  • Familiar with tools to capture and analyze 802.11 frames.
       

Advanced Level:
 

  • C Programming: Skilled in writing efficient and optimized code in C.
  • Shell Scripting: Advanced abilities in automating tasks and managing systems using Shell scripts.
  • CMake: Proficient in using Cmake for build system management.
  • Linux Kernel Development: Experience in developing and optimizing the Linux kernel.
  • Linux Desktop Bus (D-Bus): Proficient in inter-process communication using Linux D-Bus.
  • IPC (Inter-process Communication): Advanced knowledge of IPC mechanisms.
  • Yocto: Skilled in using Yocto for building custom Linux distributions.
       

Basic Understanding:
 

  • Device Tree: Familiarity with device tree structures and their role in system configuration.
  • Security Concepts: Basic knowledge of security principles and practices.
  • Software Architecture: Understanding of software architectural patterns and practices.
  • Software Documentation: Ability to create clear and comprehensive documentation.
  • Hardware Engineering: Basic understanding of how hardware components interact with software.
  • Linux Profiling & Tracing: Knowledge of tools and techniques for profiling and tracing Linux systems.
  • FOSS (Free and Open Source Software): Basic understanding of FOSS principles and practices.
  • System Analysis: Basic knowledge of system analysis and performance optimization.

 

Job responsibilities:

 

  • Analyze, diagnose, and help to reproduce complex Wi-Fi and Bluetooth-related issues
  • Maintain Wi-Fi drivers and WPA Supplicant configurations ensuring compliance with IEEE 802.11 standards
  • Work on Linux Kernel development, including driver integration and system optimization
  • Collaborate with hardware engineering teams to ensure effective integration and performance of network components
  • Collaborate with suppliers to solve driver and firmware-related issues
  • Collaborate with the Verification and Connectivity Experts team
