Outstaff Hiring: Remote – Contract

About the Role:
Start Date: Ideally in May

Join a small, agile remote engineering team where you’ll work across the entire tech stack – from building new features and refining existing systems, to DevOps and architecture. You’ll collaborate directly with the CTO and Head of Engineering, contributing to a fast-moving product in a tech-driven company.

Key Responsibilities:

• Write well-tested production code in Ruby and JavaScript
• Refactor legacy code for better maintainability
• Participate in code reviews and embrace feedback
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders
• Monitor production systems and provide tech support
• Maintain and improve the CI/CD pipeline

• Embrace innovation and continuous learning

   

Skills & Qualifications:

Required:

• Proficient in at least one OOP language (Ruby not mandatory)
• Experience building production web apps with MVC frameworks
• Understanding of OOP, SOLID principles, and TDD
• Strong Git skills (e.g., command-line rebasing)
• Comfortable with DevOps tasks
• Passionate about programming and continuous improvement

• Open to working with legacy systems

   

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Pair programming experience
• Interest in automotive, logistics, or marketplace products

• Front-end or back-end leaning full-stack developers welcome
