Site Reliability Engineer (in Portugal or Slovakia)

Role Overview

As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), you will play a critical role in building and maintaining the core infrastructure that powers a dynamic and growing engineering organization. Your mission is to ensure the scalability, availability, and reliability of internal platforms while championing DevOps best practices and a culture of automation and continuous improvement.

You will design robust systems and automation tools that empower development teams to deliver high-quality software at scale. This is a fantastic opportunity for a collaborative, proactive engineer who values doing things right — balancing speed with quality and sustainability.

This is a remote-first position open to candidates based anywhere in Europe, with a strong preference for those located in Portugal.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Design and implement scalable, secure, and cost-efficient infrastructure.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support rapid and safe software delivery.

  • Automate key processes related to build, release, monitoring, and observability.
  • Work with modern technologies like Kubernetes and Docker to improve platform stability.
  • Improve monitoring and alerting systems using tools such as Prometheus and Datadog.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to promote DevOps culture and mentor other teams.
  • Participate in on-call rotations to ensure application reliability and uptime.
  • Continuously drive improvements in performance, fault tolerance, and developer experience.

Who You Are

  • 4+ years of relevant experience in site reliability, DevOps, or cloud infrastructure roles.
  • Proficient in Kubernetes, Docker, Git, Linux, Bash, and Terraform.
  • Experience with Helm, GitHub Actions, and Ansible is a plus.
  • Confident with observability tools and metrics platforms like Prometheus; Datadog experience is a bonus.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS (or other cloud platforms) and cloud-native design patterns.
  • Capable of supporting applications written in Java/Kotlin or similar environments.
  • Skilled in at least one programming language and familiar with software development practices.
  • Strong analytical problem solver with a focus on long-term, sustainable solutions.
  • Self-driven, responsible, and a strong communicator.

What’s in It for You

  • Remote-First Work Culture: Work from anywhere in Europe, with flexibility and autonomy.
  • Unlimited Vacation: Enjoy a healthy work-life balance with generous time-off policies.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Including health, dental, vision, and savings plans (varies by location).
