System Administrator

About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced System Administrator (Consultant) to help set up and secure our IT infrastructure. This role involves preparing and configuring employee laptops, establishing company-wide IT security standards, and building a reliable infrastructure to support daily operations.

This is a consulting role, paid per task or per hour, ideal for an experienced professional who can work independently and deliver strong results.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up, configure, and deploy laptops for new and existing employees.
• Install and configure operating systems, software, and security tools on employee devices.
• Implement endpoint security, encryption, and access management controls.
• Establish secure network configurations (VPNs, firewalls, etc.) for office or remote access.
• Develop and document IT infrastructure standards, best practices, and policies.
• Set up basic cloud infrastructure (e.g., Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, or similar) if required.
• Configure backup solutions for devices and critical company data.
• Provide guidance on ongoing maintenance and IT support strategies.
• Conduct basic IT security training for employees if needed.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a System Administrator or IT Consultant.
• Strong skills in Windows, macOS, and basic networking.
• Hands-on experience with laptop imaging, device management (MDM solutions), and security tools.
• Solid understanding of endpoint security, VPNs, firewalls, and cloud services (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Workspace).
• Ability to create clear documentation and implement structured IT practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and deliver work per task or hourly agreement.

Terms:

• Contract Type: Consultancy (not direct employment).
• Payment: Per completed task or per hour (to be agreed upon).
• Duration: Project-based, with potential for ongoing tasks as needed.
