Mobile Automation QA Engineer/SDET — A navigation project (hybrid work in Warsaw)

Required skills:

● 2+ years experience as Mobile Automation QA (iOS & Android)
● Experience in Java (3+ years)
● Experience with Appium (2+ years)
● Experience with Git (preferably) or other standard version control systems
● Experience with tests reporting libraries (web oriented)
● Experience working in Agile environment
● At least upper intermediate level of both spoken and written English

As a plus:

• Experience with other mobile automation tools or frameworks (e.g., Espresso for Android, XCUITest for iOS).
• Familiarity with Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) frameworks like Cucumber.
• Experience with API testing and automation (e.g., using RestAssured with Java).
• Knowledge of performance, security, or accessibility testing for mobile applications.
• Understanding of Agile/Scrum software development methodologies.
• Contributions to open-source automation projects or a public GitHub profile showcasing your work.
• experience working with cloud-based mobile testing platforms such asDigital AI, AWS Device Farm, BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, or similar.

Responsibilities:

• Design and Develop: Create, implement, and maintain well-structured, reusable, and scalable automated test scripts and frameworks for (iOS and Android) using Java and Appium.
• Execute and Analyze: Run automated test suites, manage test execution on cloud-based device farms (e.g., Digital AI,AWS Device Farm, BrowserStack, Sauce Labs), analyze results, troubleshoot failures, and accurately report defects.
• Framework Enhancement: Contribute to the evolution and enhancement of our existing mobile automation frameworks, focusing on efficiency, reliability, and ease of maintenance.
• CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated tests into our Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines to provide rapid feedback to development teams and support agile development practices.
• Collaboration: Work closely with software developers, QM, and manual QA engineers to understand feature requirements, define test strategies, identify automation opportunities, and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
• Problem Solving: Investigate and debug complex issues found during automated testing, and collaborate with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
• Best Practices: Stay current with the latest industry trends, tools, and best practices in mobile automation, testing methodologies, and mobile technologies, and advocate for their adoption where appropriate.
• Mentorship (Optional, depending on seniority): Potentially guide and mentor junior team members in automation best practices and techniques.
• Documentation: Maintain clear and concise documentation for test plans, automation frameworks, and test cases.

Project description

The project is one of the biggest applications related to navigation. The app finds the best routes for drivers and also gives an option to find a rider for commuting together. Besides the app there are complex web & services for enterprises and communities.
