Senior DB Developer

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled PostgreSQL Database Developer to review, optimize, and enhance our database performance. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in database design, query optimization, and performance tuning to ensure efficiency and scalability.

Responsibilities:

• Review the existing PostgreSQL database structure and suggest optimizations.
• Analyze slow queries and improve database performance.
• Implement indexing strategies and optimize database queries.
• Ensure data integrity, security, and best practices.
• Collaborate with developers to improve database interactions.
• Monitor database health, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements.
• Write and maintain database documentation.

Requirements:

• Strong experience in PostgreSQL database design and optimization.
• Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries.
• Experience with indexing strategies and query execution plans.
• Knowledge of database monitoring and performance tuning tools.
• Understanding of database security best practices.
• Experience with database backup, recovery, and replication strategies.
• Ability to work independently and provide solutions proactively.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with large-scale databases and high-traffic applications.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL extensions like PostGIS, TimescaleDB, or Citus.
• Familiarity with cloud databases (AWS RDS, Google Cloud SQL, etc.).
• Scripting experience (Python, Bash) for automation.
