Team Leader
We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Team Leader to establish and lead our new On-Call Tier 2 R&D Team. This is a newly formed team that will start with the Team Leader and gradually expand with additional team members.
The team will be responsible for handling ongoing tickets from various projects, analyzing and resolving issues, and collaborating with other teams to ensure smooth operations. The Team Leader will play a pivotal role in managing the team’s activities while actively contributing to solving technical challenges.
What You will do:
- Operations and Management:
- Lead a team of 2 Fullstack Developers and 1 QA Engineer (to be added after the initial setup)
- Analyze tickets to determine whether the issue is a bug, a small change, or requires escalation to Tier 3 teams (Development or IT).
- Maintain clear documentation of issues, resolutions, and suggested improvements.
- Create comprehensive manuals for fixing different issue types to streamline resolution processes and support team knowledge sharing.
- Analyze recurring issues and suggest enhancements to Tier 3 R&D teams to prevent future occurrences.
- Identify and propose process improvements to streamline ticket management and resolution.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and business stakeholders to align expectations and provide updates.
- Hands-On Technical Work:
- Actively participate in ticket resolution, including debugging, fixing bugs, and implementing small changes.
- Perform server configuration tasks (Nginx, Apache) and address database-related tasks, including extracting and fixing data as needed.
- Manage and troubleshoot WordPress setups and resolve site availability issues.
- Resolve issues related to markup, PHP code, and infrastructure (e.g., adjusting permissions, fixing Nginx configurations).
- Write high-quality, reusable code to support future projects
- Handle the technical setup of third-party applications and self-developed applications.
- Read and understand documentation to implement features such as postbacks and manage tracking systems.
Required Experience to Succeed in This Role:
- Technical Expertise:
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience as a Web Developer with strong PHP knowledge, including experience in debugging production PHP sites.
- Proficient in server configuration and management (Nginx, Apache).
- Ability to extract and fix data within databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
- Proficiency in front-end technologies, including HTML markup creation with CSS styling and JavaScript scripting.
- Knowledge of bash commands and Linux systems:
- Ability to change directory ownership and permissions,
- Navigate servers via CLI and interact with services like Nginx, Docker, PHP processes, and bash
- Knowledge of commands such as cd, ls, chmod, chown, docker commands, touch, mkdir, cp, mv
- Experience in WordPress development – an advantage.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices – an advantage.
- Knowledge of monitoring tools and server health checks – an advantage.

Work Schedule:
- Team operates 6 days a week (Sunday to Friday).
- Individual team members work 5 days a week with rotational coverage for Sundays and Fridays.
- Flexibility to address critical issues outside regular working hours as needed.
