Network Administrator
The role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced System Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have excellent networking skills, extensive experience in Unix administration, and a solid understanding of Windows OS and Active Directory. The System Administrator will be responsible for handling support and maintenance tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Support, maintain, and develop the company’s network infrastructure.
- Manage and optimize network performance, ensuring reliability and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network issues in a timely manner.
- Oversee network security measures to protect against unauthorized access,vulnerabilities, and threats.
- Collaborate with internal teams to design and implement network solutions that alignwith business goals.
- Monitor network performance and make recommendations for improvements.
- Assist in the migration of network infrastructure to cloud-based solutions.
- Document network configurations, changes, and updates.
Provide technical support and training to team members as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Network Administrator or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware.
- Experience with network security and firewall management.
- Familiarity with both terrestrial and cloud-based network environments.
- Knowledge of network protocols and services (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Ability to work independently and remotely, with strong self-management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Understanding of related technologies, such as virtualization, to collaborateeffectively with other IT teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with WatchGuard and F5 network solutions.
- Certification in relevant network administration or security fields (e.g., CCNA,CompTIA Network+).
- Experience in cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
Knowledge of Unix.
Additional Notes
This role is considered a 2nd line support position, typically not requiring support forindividual users.
