Network Administrator

The role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced System Administrator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have excellent networking skills, extensive experience in Unix administration, and a solid understanding of Windows OS and Active Directory. The System Administrator will be responsible for handling support and maintenance tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of our IT infrastructure.

 

Responsibilities

  • Support, maintain, and develop the company’s network infrastructure.
  • Manage and optimize network performance, ensuring reliability and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues in a timely manner.
  • Oversee network security measures to protect against unauthorized access,vulnerabilities, and threats.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to design and implement network solutions that alignwith business goals.
  • Monitor network performance and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Assist in the migration of network infrastructure to cloud-based solutions.
  • Document network configurations, changes, and updates.
  • Provide technical support and training to team members as needed.

     

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Network Administrator or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware.
  • Experience with network security and firewall management.
  • Familiarity with both terrestrial and cloud-based network environments.
  • Knowledge of network protocols and services (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Ability to work independently and remotely, with strong self-management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of related technologies, such as virtualization, to collaborateeffectively with other IT teams.

     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with WatchGuard and F5 network solutions.
  • Certification in relevant network administration or security fields (e.g., CCNA,CompTIA Network+).
  • Experience in cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
  • Knowledge of Unix.

     

Additional Notes

  • This role is considered a 2nd line support position, typically not requiring support forindividual users.
