React Native Developer (+ React as a plus)
Hello ๐
We're looking to hire a young, ambitious and talented React and React Native engineer full-time, remote. You'll join a tiny small team bringing to market great mobile and web products and you'll take charge of delivering products while sweating the details.
Who are we?
We're a small product studio. We experiment with prototyping and launching mobile and web products either to existing audiences or from scratch. We are not developing for others, but rather building our own products. We then bring them to market โ some will work, others we'll sunset!
The company was started by founders that previously started, grew and sold a software development company with over 30 remote employees.
Who is this for?
- Any level of seniority โ your entrepreneurial spirit and pace of delvery is more important than the years of experience;
- Eager to learn and evolve in career with extreme levels of ownership (i.e. you'll build entire products, not just small pieces);
- Super curious and wanting to try new things;
- Likes to ship fast โ this doesn't mean impossible deadlines. We've been in software long enough, some sh*t takes time, but you like to see the result of your work out in the wild quickly.
- Uses AI to fast track their development โ you *must* use Cursor, Windsurf or similar. We'll pay for it. AI is *NOT* to replace you but to make you 2x faster;
- Wants to give input in helping shape products we release;
- Wants to get exposed to international working environment and seeing growth of products first hand from a few users to a few thousands and beyond;
- Someone that likes and values good design (we try that all we do is pretty and functional :) );
What You'll Do
- Work with a small team to ship our own web and mobile projects;
- Maintain existing mobile applications developed in React Native;
- Finish existing (but not yet launched) applications;
- Create applications from scratch;
What you need
1. React Native knowledge and experience;
2. React knowledge and experience is a plus, not a mandatory;
3. Typescript knowledge is a plus (existing apps use it);
5. Someone that is curious and seeks to learn more every day. You don't present problems, you present potential solutions;
6. Someone that is able to work on average 40h/week;
8. Good stable connection for weekly syncs;
9. Fair English so we can properly communicate; We do not do a ton of calls but writing and speaking english is a must.
Engagement
Contractor, Full Time, Monthly Lump Sum Payment; Flexible hours and time off.
Our Hiring Process
We want to save our time and your time and be the people we wish we'd get if we were looking for a job. So we commit to:
1. Always letting you know some response (either positive or negative);
2. If we have interest move fast through the hiring process;
Our hiring process is structured as following:
1. Initial screening based on answers to couple questions;
2. If interest, paid assessment test (1h)
3. If good results, interview with our CEO;
4. If pass on interview, longer up to 6h paid coding test;
5. Hiring Decision;
When we hire you we enter into a 2-3 month trial phase. We establish a contract without a set/due date but during the initial 2-3 months we can both end this faster. This is (a) to ensure you're good and aligned with what we're looking for; (b) to make sure you enjoy working with us and our projects an that we're not horrible people to work with :)
Our Work tools
Slack (or Telegram), G Suite, Linear (for project management), GitHub Windsurf/Cursor (you pick!), DigitalOcean, Axiom (logging);
Compensation
Compensation will depend on the candidate profile. This is a position to grow within the company and we are not looking for super-senior candidates. That said, we ran a dev business before, so we understand (local) market rates :)
We prefer lower compensation updated (increased) regularly based on output.
How to Apply?
Please MAKE SURE you answer the below questions when applying or you'll be EXCLUDED:
1. Share up to 2 (max) projects you're proud of and tell us why for each in a sentence. Fine if not React Native, but ideally one of these is.
2. Do you confirm you have experience with React Native? What about React and Typescript?
3. When would you be available and what is your target monthly payment?
4. Share with us 2 web or mobile applications whose design you like or think are polished (i.e. good interactions, smart functionality etc); Don't need to be done by you.
5. Ask us any questions :)
Looking forward!
