Head of Projects plays a pivotal role in our IT company, overseeing and optimizing the entire project management process. The primary focus of this role is to manage project managers, to streamline the efficiency of software development life cycle (SDLC), Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), and quality assurance (QA) processes. Head of Projects will lead initiatives to improve documentation, onboarding, expand development teams, establish project metrics, and enhance the quality of business analysis and technical requirements. Head of Projects will also be responsible for creating implementation plans, monitoring project progress, resource allocation, risk assessment, and ensuring the timely and within-budget delivery of all projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management Leadership:
- Manage and mentor a team of Project Managers, providing
guidance and support in their project execution.
- Develop and implement project management best practices
across the organization.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement in project
management methodologies.
SDLC, CI/CD, and QA Process Enhancement:
- Enhance and implement the SDLC process, be in change of
constant optimization of project development life cycle.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize and
streamline the software development life cycle (SDLC), CI/CD
pipelines, and QA processes.
- Drive the adoption of agile methodologies and automation
practices to improve development efficiency.
Documentation and Onboarding:
- Lead efforts to enhance project documentation, data storage and
timely updates, ensuring clarity and completeness.
- Develop and improve onboarding processes for new team
members, ensuring a smooth transition into projects.
Team Expansion:
- Identify opportunities for team growth and expansion, working
with Recruitmentto hire and onboard new development teams.
- Be in charge of enhancing the interviewing process, candidates
quality checks.
Project Metrics Implementation:
- Establish and implement project metrics and key performance
indicators (KPIs) to measure project success and efficiency.
- Continuously monitor and analyze project metrics to identify
areas for improvement.
- Establish time tracking for tasks and Jira, work on analytics to
streamline and optimise the development process.
Quality Improvement:
- Collaborate with business analysts and technical teams to
improve the quality of business analysis and technical
requirements.
- Implement processes for rigorous requirement gathering,
validation, and traceability.
- Enhancing the criterias for definition of done, pre- and post-
release audits and checks.
Project Planning and Oversight:
- Create comprehensive plans for project implementation, ensuring
alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
- Monitor project progress, identify deviations, and take corrective
actions to ensure timely delivery.
- Resource Allocation and Risk Management:
- Assign resources to projects based on skill sets and availability,
making adjustments as necessary.
- Evaluate potential project risks and develop contingency plans to
minimize disruptions.
Team Coordination:
- Coordinate and improve the usefulness of regular team meetings
to ensure alignment, engagement, and clear understanding of
project responsibilities.
- Update and improve incident management.
Budget and Timeline Management:
- Implement budget tracking.
- Ensure that all project deliverables are completed on time and
within allocated budgets.
- Train and evaluate the team.
- Arrange and provide regular training to project managers and
other team members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information
Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience 5+ years in project management in the
position of senior project manager and/or CPO, with a strong
background in international IT project delivery (financial /
advanced ecommerce / FinTech / hi-tech or other enterprise
projects).
- Proven 5+ years of experience working for international
companies / contractors.
- SDLC, PMP, Agile, or other relevant certifications are a plus.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with project management tools and software.
