ARCHITECTURE:

We have an interesting (and efficient) architecture, and we plan to further improve it. Our current stack is Clojure + ClojureScript, doing a SPA with an API (usable both by web and apps). All inter-system communication goes through Kafka and PostgreSQL is our DB of choice.

 

THE ROLE & PERFECT CANDIDATE’S PROFILE:

We need a leader who is extremely passionate about building talented, healthy and highly motivated Engineering Team and has proven track record in it. The successful candidate will be entrepreneurial, innovative, and excel at “thinking big,” has great sense of ownership while also recognizing the need to coordinate his or her team’s activities within the the fast-growing company.

 

KEY OBJECTIVES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1) Build the best Engineering Team in Ukraine:

- They make the code they own or touch simpler, clearer, easier to work with and faster to change

- They can debug anything, quickly. They’ll fix the problem well, and learn about how it ended up broken, and adapt to avoid similar failures in future

- They help others be great

- They’re customer focused

- They’re ambitious, and they make sure they’re solving big valuable problems

- They are creative

2) Be passionate about the Company & make sure our technical strategy supports Company business strategy and answer our customers’ needs.

3) Build a culture of quantifying the business outcomes to create a sense of purpose in the work produced.

4) As integral member of C-Suite build Culture based on Company’s Values & help to shape the future of UA E-commerce.

5) Be both highly technical & have amazing communication skills.

6) Work closely with CEO, CPO, CMO, Head of Design, CBD.

 

REQUIREMENTS

1) Exceptional leadership skills, common sense & sense of ownership

2) Ability to draw insights and make connections

3) Proven record of “thinking big” & “making things happen” beyond expectations

4) Degree in Computer Science or related field

5) A consistent history of delivering results with software over the past 7-10 years

6) A clear vision of what a successful Engineering Organization looks like and how to achieve it
