A Japanese femtech startup is looking to hire a highly motivated and detail-oriented Manual QA Engineer to work remotely and be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our iOS/Android apps. As a QA Engineer, you will be working in an agile cross-functional team, implementing new features, and creating health apps and services. We’re looking at various levels of experience as we want to hire people who can bring a variety of different practices to the team.

Product Tech Stack: Node.js, Google Cloud Services, Flutter/Dart, CI/CD, Jira.

Job Functions:

• Create different user-testing scenarios (popular and unpopular), including various extreme scenarios (very poor internet connection, etc);

• Manual-test apps and web funnels: functional, regression, and smoky;

• Collaborate closely with the development team to identify and prioritize areas for testing, ensuring efficient testing processes.

• Visual perfection: compare designs and spot differences after implementation;

• Continuously monitor and enhance test coverage and effectiveness to ensure high-quality software releases;

• Identify, analyze, and report software defects, and work closely with the development team to ensure their resolution;

• Manage localization of several languages: check the accuracy of the translation & UI changes with translation;

• Resolve user cases;

Required knowledge and skills:

• Must be able to work 8 hours per day;

• At least 2+ years of experience in iOS/Android apps QA (iOS is a priority);

• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, processes, and best practices;

• Good understanding of the testing process (goals and objectives, types of testing, test design, etc.);

• Experience in creating and writing test documentation (test cases, checklists, bug reports);

• Understanding of what requirements are and what they should be, being able to communicate them with the development team to resolve bugs/update features;

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail;

• English level: intermediate/upper-intermediate;

Would be a plus:

• Experience with API testing (Postman);

• Experience with SQL databases;

• Experience with Google Services, such as Firebase;

• Experience working with Unix operating systems;

• Experience with Git;

• Experience with Unix terminal & Bash;
