Refold Languages is creating the definitive pathway to second language fluency.

In the internet age, there are millions of different language learning tools and strategies, but they don't work together or talk to each other. There is no single tool that can solve the entire language learning puzzle, so each learner is forced to figure out for themselves which tools to use at which points in their learning journey.

Refold is crowdsourcing and organizing these language learning resources into a holistic and coherent pathway to fluency so the learner doesn’t have to.

Our community has grown to 30,000+ members over the past 18 months and we are building out our website as an essential tool for our learners to use throughout their learning journey.

Job Description

Refold is looking for a full-time web developer to own our codebase and technical strategy for the web application and grow with us as a company.

Responsibilities

- Work with other team members to design new features for the website.

- Design and enforce the architecture for the codebase.

- Coordinate new feature implementation with other developers on the team.

- Identify problematic user experiences and propose solutions.

- Respond to reported technical issues.

Technical Requirements

- 5+ years of experience in web development.

- Expert in front-end development with a good eye for design.

- React.js, Typescript, Design systems, Component Libraries

- Able to create low-fidelity mockups for new product features.

Proficient in backend web development

- Firebase

- Node.js

Optional Qualifications

- Experience with AI recommendation engines

- Experience with Natural Language Processing

- Passionate about education

- Passionate about language learning

Working Arrangements

- Location: Our team is fully remote and global so you can live anywhere in the world.

- Timezone: Our headquarters is in San Francisco, CA, so you’ll need to overlap with some portion of our workday.

Compensation

We are a small, fully bootstrapped company but growing quickly. You would be the second full-time employee of Refold you’d have a share of the company as it grows.

We are looking for someone who understands these constraints but believes in the future value of the company and is willing to work with us to design a compensation package that incorporates the current needs of the business.
