JavaScript Software Engineer for world marketplace (offline)

What's the opportunity?

As a key member of an agile team, you design, build, test, deploy and maintain scalable and complex cloud-based marketplace application (80% frontend, 20% backend). You will be closely working with the Product manager and Head of Engineering.

What skills and experience do you need?

Deep understanding of TypeScript, React framework and frontend build tools
Hands on experience with backend NodeJS services and REST APIs
Experience building complex, well structured, modern web apps
Fluency with HTML, CSS and responsive interface composition
The team is distributed and you are must be comfortable communicating over instant messenger and video communications
High-level of English is a requirement (Upper-Intermediate).

Preferred qualifications

Hands on experience with GraphQL protocol, GatsbyJS framework and cloud-based development in AWS
Coding skills in languages other than JavaScript/TypeScript
Strong sense of web design and attuned to the fundamentals of user experience
Experience with CSS pre-processing frameworks such as SASS or LESS and BEM methodology
Experience of product development in consumer-focused or SaaS companies
Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline

Tasks you will face with?

Design and build a modern, scalable, distributed marketplace application using cutting-edge technologies
Focus on frontend development and fully own backend and integrations
Influence choice of the tech stack and frameworks
Develop prototypes quickly and create robust production applications
Be responsible for your code from design to deployment and test
Self-starter, able to manage your time, tasks and workload in a flexible environment working with remote colleagues.

Platform is based on the following technologies:
We use different set of SaaS products to speed-up time of development of new features:
* Contentful CMS to store and configure our content;
* Salesforce for sales management
* Google Marketing toolset ( GA, GTM, Google Optimize (A/B testing)) for data driven development.

Marketplace website based on React and Gatsby (SSG)
Frontend: JavaScript, React, TypeScript, Effector for state management
Page make-up: HTML, CSS, SCSS,
Automated UI testing using CucumberJS + Cypress.
Backend: We are trying to use as many as possible SaaS solutions. We have own small backend on AWS lambdas (TypeScript + serverless). SaaS services: Salesforce, Contentful, Pardot, Algolia
Environment: Cloud-based on AWS + SaaS
JIRA for task management.
Infrastructure as a code - terraform.
Build tools: CircleCI + AWS CodeBuild.

Management is mainly in London, our Head Of Engineering - Rustam Aliyev used to work at Skype and other well-known companies

Our team in Ukraine: we have 3 developers remote right now, working on the project full time in Kiev.

In case of mutual interest we provide:
1. Engineering interview with one of the engineers (online) up to 1,5 hours
2. Final interview with Head of Engineering – Rustam Aliyev (online) - 40 minutes
