C/C++ Team Leader – OTT/Media, Embedded Linux Offline

Description

Our customer is a worldwide international company with a headquarter in the US.

The company pioneered streaming to the TV and provides the TV streaming platform that connects the entire TV ecosystem around the world.

Today, the company streaming devices are used by millions of consumers in North America, Latin America and in parts of Europe including the UK, Ireland, and France.

The company operates the No. 1 TV streaming platform in the U.S. as measured by hours streamed.

Candidate will work closely Product Development, platform services, and release management teams to contribute to development. Ideally we’re looking for proficient team leader with embedded and consumer electronics experience.

Requirements

Required

- 5+ years of relevant software development experience, 1+ on a technical lead position.

- Proficiency in C and C++ and good knowledge in an object-oriented programming paradigm.

- Extensive experience in Linux kernel development and in Embedded development.

- Able to work and influence in a highly cross-functional team environment, experience with Agile development processes

- Excellent communication and negotiation skills; at least Upper-Intermediate level of English, written and verbal

- Good planning and organizational skills; excellent time management skills

- Master’s degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science.

Desired

- Experience with any OTT system: Android TV / FireTV / TvOS / Xbox

- Experience designing SDK / public libraries / frameworks and producing related artifacts; understanding of API design considerations and tradeoffs

- Familiarity with tools and libraries such as Boost, PlayReady, ALSA, DIAL is a plus

- Experience with memory management and multi-threaded development

- Experience with OpenGL and / or DirectFB

- Experience with UX concepts and working with the product

- Experience mentoring, coaching, and developing rising talent in the technology department.

Responsibilities

- Design architecture and implementation solutions from scratch; validation and discussion on design topics

- Participate in cross-functional processes and design reviews to ensure product quality and reliability.

- Solution driver and contributor

- Technical estimation; technical advisory and assistance in issues resolution

- Hold regular technical team meetings to determine progress and address any technical questions or challenges related to projects

- Work with global teams in different time zones and other cross-functional staff to coordinate engineering efforts and resolve any potential roadblocks

- Participation in pre-sales; requirements analysis, planning and development
