Chattanooga, Tenn.-based tech startup has created an application that provides COVID-19 questionnaires, risk assessments, individual risk profiles, recommended paths back to the workplace, contact tracing and more. This survey has an “AI risk engine” that can “combine reported factors with hundreds of other known risks to predict infection risk ahead of any confirmed case,” making it a good fit for large workplaces and schools.

Notably, our Client has also partnered with Franklin, Tenn.-based startup RxGenomix, which provides its own COVID-19 return-to-work solutions. RxGenomix offers diagnostic saliva-based tests for COVID-19 that can be shipped overnight, daily monitoring and point-of-entry screening applications and one-on-one return-to-work consulting.
Our Client is a field leader in using data to influence patient outcomes over the long haul. Our team collects and deploys a wide range of data on our users, using machine learning to assemble disparate datasets and increase the quality of health decisions and outcomes.

We’re looking for a Lead Python Engineer who will work with a cross functional team and will be responsible for maintaining and developing our server-side processes. Being back-end focused you will be joining an exciting and ambitious start-up to integrate various systems into the business’ own client-facing API. You’ll advocate for testing best practice, liaise with clients to ensure a seamless integration process as well as creating guides & training tools for juniors coming into the team. In a fast-paced start-up it’s expected that you’ll be adaptable with a keen drive to learn & implement new technologies.

What you will do

➤ Provides leadership and direction for software engineers
➤ Collaborating with senior management and fellow developers to meet both technical and consume requirements while maintaining regular communication of progress
➤ Implementing the best practices and coding standards of the project.
➤ Comfortably operating within an Agile team using SCRUM methodologies
➤ Creating containerized Docker microservices targeted for AWS hosting
➤ Executing caching, load balancing, and other strategies of optimal service performance
➤ Integrating AWS services where beneficial for project needs
➤ Staying abreast of developments in web applications and programming languages
➤ Occasionally use PySpark to build big data pipelines. Build business analytics pipelines and services
➤ Extensively use pandas to analyze, clean up and prepare data for machine learning
➤ Develop and integrate scalable services related to data science
➤ Develop reliable models. Track and Improve output quality.
➤ Produce and maintain technical product documentation.

About you

➤ Advanced with Python programming
➤ Experience with Django or similar python web framework (Flask)
➤ Experience with RESTful API design & development
➤ Experience with PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases
➤ Experience working within an AWS environment
➤ Ability to integrate multiple data sources and databases into one system
➤ Able to create database schemas that represent and support business processes
➤ Able to implement automated testing platforms and unit tests
➤ Upper-Intermediate English
