We are looking for a Senior Android Developer who is confident working with Kotlin and Java, understands Clean Architecture, and has hands-on experience with MVVM, RxJava or Coroutines, and Room/SQLite.

This is an opportunity to join a product-driven team building communication and spam protection apps used by millions of users worldwide. 

The core product has over 20 million users in 200+ countries, with hundreds of millions of phone number scans and spam detections each year. 

Work format: 2 days remote, 3 days in the office in Kyiv (Podil district).

Responsibilities

• Participate in Android app development: fix bugs, add new features, and improve UX/UI.
• Refactor existing code to enhance stability, performance, and scalability.
• Collaborate with the product team to deliver new features and product ideas.
• Improve development processes and implement Android engineering best practices.

• Support app releases, testing, and improvements based on user feedback.

   

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of the Android platform
• Solid experience with Kotlin and Java
• Understanding of and practical experience with Clean Architecture
• Proficiency in RxJava or Coroutines, MVVM, and Dagger
• Working experience with SQLite and Room
• Familiarity with REST APIs, JSON, and XML
• Solid understanding of OOP principles
• A reliable team player with a strong sense of ownership
• English: Intermediate or higher (ability to work in an international team)

Nice to Have

• Experience with Git submodules and modular project structure
• Familiarity with library projects and reusable components
• End-to-end experience with the mobile development lifecycle
• Background in developing Caller ID, address book, or dialer applications

THE CROWN IS YOURS

As an Android Automation Lead in our flagship Sportsbook team, you will own the test automation strategy and drive its implementation across a large team (50+ FTE) working on a multi-billion-dollar product. You will have plenty of freedom to make an impact, but we also expect a proactive, data-driven approach to deliver real improvements in quality and efficiency. If you are curious, innovative, and ready to lead change, you’ll thrive in this role. Expect your role to be split equally between hands-on technical work and leadership. About 50% of your time will be dedicated to writing code and designing technical solutions, while the other 50% will be spent mentoring team members and guiding our quality initiatives to success.

What you'll do as an Android Automation Lead

• Lead Test Automation and design, develop, and maintain the test automation framework for our mobile Android applications.
• Define clear processes and guidelines that ensure robust test coverage and product quality.
• Ensure that all Engineering Teams are writing tests and following the standards you help to develop.
• Work closely with Engineering, Product, and QA teams to integrate automation into our overall testing strategy.
• Mentor team members through code reviews and knowledge-sharing sessions to promote best practices in unit, UI, and other testing types.
• Stay current with industry trends (including AI and other emerging technologies) to keep our approach efficient and innovative.
• Collaborate with Engineering Managers to set realistic quality expectations and provide actionable feedback on performance.

What You'll Bring

• 5+ years in Android mobile development using Kotlin.
• Solid experience with Jetpack Compose.
• Solid experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Espresso and/or Composer UI Automation for Android).
• Familiarity with security and performance testing practices.
• Knowledge of mobile CI/CD best practices.
• Experience with device farms or cloud testing platforms (such as Firebase Test Lab, AWS Device Farm, or Browserstack) is a plus.
• Practical and results-oriented with a strong bias for action.
• Curious, innovative, and proactive in driving change and experimenting with new ideas.
• Fluency in English.

Це перша позиція такого рівня в Android команді, з можливістю:

• Будувати технічну стратегію одразу для трьох продуктів AMO APPS — з окремими командами, інфраструктурою та викликами;
• Формувати інженерну культуру: задавати стандарти, уніфікувати стек і впроваджувати ініціативи, які мастшабуватимуться на всі команди;
• Напряму впливати на продукти та їх розвиток, допомагати в досягненні стратегічних бізнес-цілей;
• Відповідати за загальний перформанс Android команди.

Твої ключові задачі:

• Управління Android командою: прямий менеджмент 3х Team Leads, розвиток їхньої автономності, технічного лідерства та допомога у прийнятті рішень. Участь у наймі, подальшому розвитку та масштабуванні команди;
• Формування єдиного вектору розвитку Android-команд через визначення технічних пріоритетів, підходів до роботи, стандартів якості коду, CI/CD, тестування та інфраструктури;
• Аудит і вдосконалення технічного стану існуючих систем, узгодження інженерних підходів, технічних стандартів і архітектурних рішень між командами;
• Участь у формуванні інженерної культури: залучення до ініціатив з обміну знаннями, технічного зростання команд, створення середовища постійного вдосконалення.

Ключові вимоги:

• Від 3 років досвіду в ролі Android Team Lead або Engineering Manager, із відповідальністю за кілька команд розробки або одну велику команду з розподіленими зонами відповідальності;
• Глибока експертиза в Android-розробці: Kotlin, Android SDK, Jetpack Compose, CI/CD, архітектурні підходи;
• Досвід побудови технічної стратегії: архітектура, технічна уніфікація, впровадження процесів, контроль технічної якості;
• Розуміння, як поєднати технічні рішення з продуктовими цілями: пріоритезація, roadmap-планування, адаптація до змін;
• Управління командою: прямий менеджмент та розвиток спеціалістів рівня Team Lead, формування автономних команд, активна участь в наймі та масштабуванні команд; 
• Взаємодія з крос-функціональними командами у межах спільної інженерної практики.
