About us

We're an established direct-response e-commerce operation processing company. We're now building WasabiCRM — our own order-management and payments CRM, purpose-built for high-volume direct-response commerce. Rather than bending a bloated, general-purpose platform to our needs, we're building a lean, vertical system around the workflows that actually move revenue: checkout, upsells, subscriptions, decline recovery, and payment orchestration.

This is a rare chance to build a payments-grade product from the core outward, with real transaction volume flowing through it from week one — not a prototype looking for users.

The mission

Replace the legacy CRM the business runs on today with a system we own end-to-end: faster, cleaner, and built exactly for how modern e-commerce operators sell. Stage one is a focused internal platform that processes live orders through our payment integrations. From there, it becomes the central system our whole team runs on — and, ultimately, a product we open to external partners. You'll be one of the first engineers on this and will have direct influence over architecture, stack, and product direction.

What you'll build

• Checkout & funnel engine — high-converting, embeddable checkouts with order bumps, one-click upsells/downsells, and A/B testing
• Payments layer — integrations with payment processors and gateways (charges, tokenization/card-on-file, refunds, webhooks), plus transaction logging modeled as immutable events
• Subscription & rebill engine — recurring billing with dunning, smart retries, and decline recovery
• Orders, customers & reporting — a clean order/customer data model, a real-time operator dashboard, and by-product performance reporting
• Integrations — processors, fulfillment (ShipStation/3PL), email/SMS, and tracking/attribution via webhooks and postbacks

• Data migration tooling — reliable import of orders, subscriptions, and customer records from other CRMs

   

What you'll own

• Ship production features on a fast, iterative cadence with real revenue on the line
• Design a data model and API built to scale from internal use to a multi-tenant product
• Integrate third-party APIs cleanly (payments, fulfillment, messaging) with robust webhook handling, retries, and reconciliation
• Build for reliability: this system handles money, so correctness, idempotency, and auditability matter more than moving fast and breaking things
• Provide input into frontend development to design a beyond industry standard UI/UX

• Collaborate directly with the founders and a non-technical product owner — explain trade-offs in plain terms and demo working software every week

   

Required experience

• 2+ years building and shipping full-stack web applications end-to-end
• Strong TypeScript/JavaScript with React and Next.js
• Solid Node.js backend experience and comfort designing REST APIs
• Supabase is a must — hands-on experience building on it in production (Postgres schema design, Row-Level Security, Auth, storage, and realtime)
• Hands-on experience integrating third-party APIs and webhooks — ideally including a payment provider (Stripe, or similar)
• Deployment and ops on modern infrastructure (Vercel, plus AWS or equivalent)
• Understanding of authentication, authorization, and secure handling of sensitive data

• Fluent written and spoken English, and the self-direction to own features without hand-holding

   

Bonus points

• Direct experience with subscription/recurring-billing systems (dunning, retries, churn/decline recovery)
• Familiarity with payment concepts — gateways, merchant accounts (MIDs), tokenization, chargebacks, PCI scope
• Experience with e-commerce or CRM/order-management platforms (Shopify, CheckoutChamp/Konnektive, Sticky.io, Recharge, or similar)
• Multi-tenant SaaS architecture experience

• A track record of taking a product from zero to production

You will be the dedicated developer for our funnel building teams. The role covers the full technical lifecycle of our funnels — building and maintaining pages, configuring checkouts and offers in the CRM, implementing tracking, and supporting split tests — along with day-to-day ecommerce development requests across the portfolio. 
 

Beyond funnel work, you will develop small self-contained projects: internal tools, digital products, and lightweight SaaS-style applications. These projects involve integrating a variety of third-party APIs — payments, fulfillment, analytics, and AI services — and you will own them end-to-end, from brief to deployment.
 

Turnaround speed and reliability are central to this role. We use AI tooling (primarily Claude) as a standard part of the development workflow, and expect this hire to do the same.

Responsibilities

• Build, edit, and maintain funnel pages in CheckoutChamp and Funnelish, including checkout and upsell flows
• Configure offers, products, pricing, and payment settings in the CRM
• Implement and verify tracking across all pages: pixels, conversion events, and tracker parameters
• Develop and maintain Shopify stores and product pages
• Set up split tests of the funnels
• Diagnose and resolve funnel issues promptly, prioritizing anything affecting live traffic
• Develop internal tools, digital products, and lightweight SaaS-style applications, owning them from brief to deployment
• Integrate third-party services via APIs and webhooks (payments, fulfillment, email/SMS, analytics, AI)
• Implement pages accurately from copy documents and design references, with mobile-first quality
• Monitor page performance and load speed, and keep them within acceptable standards for paid traffic
• Use Claude to accelerate page and product development while maintaining quality standards

• Document builds and configurations, and communicate status proactively to the team

  
  Requirements

• Hands-on experience with CheckoutChamp and/or Funnelish (page builders)
• Experience working in direct-response CRM systems (e.g. Konnektive/CheckoutChamp, Sticky.io, or similar), including offers, upsells, and subscription billing
• Professional background in ecommerce, ideally direct-response
• Working proficiency with Shopify
• Fluent, practical use of Claude (or comparable AI tools) in a development workflow, including rapid page creation
• Strong HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Node.js, and Python (experience with other languages)
• Experience integrating third-party APIs and webhooks
• Working knowledge of version control (Git) and disciplined release habits: testing changes before they reach live traffic
• Fluent spoken and written English
• Proactive communication: clear status updates, early flagging of blockers and risks
• High attention to details 

• Ability to work autonomously, proactivity, and good communication skills

  Who we're looking for

  This is a role for a builder. You won't be maintaining someone else's legacy codebase or waiting on tickets. You'll ship pages, tools, and products that go in front of real customers within days, with clear ownership and a direct line to the people making the decisions.

  
  The work is creative, you'll be working on different challenges, and you'll be expected to research it properly, think critically about the approach, and come back with options — not questions. When something's broken or half-defined, you flag it early and propose the fix.

  
  You should be comfortable holding several threads at once without dropping any of them. High input, shifting priorities, and partial information are the normal conditions here, not exceptions. We're looking for someone precise about details, reliable about follow-through, clear in writing, and genuinely interested in getting better at the craft.
