About the team

We are a focused engineering team of 5 to 9 people at a multi-product tech SaaS company. We work across personalization, recommendation, fraud detection, and some GenAI, through real-time, near-real-time, and batch
pipelines. The team is a blend of Python backend engineers, ML engineers, QA (manual and automation), a data engineer, and data scientists. Our shared mandate is to take experimentation from our data scientists and turn it into
robust, production-grade systems, either as standalone services or integrated into wider platforms.

The role

You will be a senior engineer on the team, building and operating backend systems and setting a high bar through your work. You will contribute significantly to architecture and technical direction and strongly influence how we build, working alongside other senior engineers and a hands-on engineering manager, while staying hands-on across the hardest problems. The systems you work on are either part of a larger SaaS backend or run as standalone services: batch and event-driven pipelines, stream consumers, feature stores, REST APIs, and background workers.
 

 Responsibilities

• Contribute significantly to the architecture and implementation approach for the team's backend systems, and influence technical direction
• Design and build production Python services: APIs, stream consumers, pipelines, feature stores, background workers
• Set and uphold engineering standards: code quality, testing, observability, deployment discipline
• Take ownership of deployment and release, partnering with DevOps on Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD
• Productionize data scientists' experimentation into reliable services
• Raise the technical bar through review, mentorship, and example
• Take part in the team's on-call rotation for the systems you build and operate
• Partner with product and business stakeholders to shape and scope work

 
Requirements

• 5+ years of backend engineering experience
• Strong Python: async, data processing, Redis, Kafka, and database clients, PySpark
• Strong relational database skills, plus Redis and Kafka (design and performance tuning)
• Good working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD, enough to partner well with DevOps
• Experience contributing to and influencing architecture and implementation approach for a team
• Deployment and release ownership
• Product mindset, comfortable speaking to customers and business stakeholders

Nice to have

• Databricks experience
• Experience building LLM-powered systems, including human-in-the-loop and agentic workflows
• Fraud detection, recsys, or personalization systems experience
• Prometheus and Grafana
• SaaS or high-scale product domain experience

Interview Stages:

We’re a 100+ people product company looking for an experienced HR professional to take ownership of the people function and help us scale thoughtfully.

There’s already a solid foundation: an HR Operations / People Partner Manager and a Recruiter are part of the team, and HR processes are up and running. What we need now is someone to elevate the function - act as a strategic partner to leadership, sharpen our people practices, and bring both big-picture thinking and hands-on execution.

What You’ll Be Doing
▸ Partner with middle and senior managers to translate business goals into HR strategies and concrete actions
▸ Use HR metrics and analytics to support decision-making and drive data-informed conversations at all levels
▸ Support organizational design: structure, role definitions, workforce planning
▸ Contribute to job architecture - leveling, grading, and KPI frameworks
▸ Own the full employee lifecycle: onboarding, performance management, development, internal mobility, and offboarding
▸ Develop and maintain HR policies and processes that work for the business, not just for compliance
▸ Coach and guide managers on people management, employee relations, and HR processes
▸ Identify organizational challenges early, propose practical solutions, and follow through on implementation
▸ Lead and contribute to HR projects end-to-end - from design to delivery
▸ Collaborate closely with the FinOps Manager on payroll, accruals, and compensation-related matters
▸ Work in tight coordination with the HR Operations / People Partner Manager and Recruiter to keep the people function running smoothly and consistently

What We’re Looking For
▸ 5+ years in HR, with 2+ years in an HR Business Partner or HR Lead capacity
▸ Proven experience working directly with middle and senior management
▸ Background in international or multicultural environments
▸ Strong expertise in Performance Management and the full Employee Lifecycle
▸ Experience navigating complex ER situations - conflicts, retention challenges, and offboarding
▸ Confident working with HR data: metrics, reporting, analytics - you bring evidence to the table, not just instinct
▸ English B2+ (used in daily work)
▸ Kyiv-based (preferred)
▸ ✦ PLUS: Familiarity with Ukrainian employment specifics - gig contracts, PE arrangements and military registration
