# About the role

We make tools for marketing and sales teams. Right now we're building an analytics platform, along the lines of Google Analytics but aimed at marketing and sales. It'll be used internally first and then rolled out to customers as part of our product line.

We already have a product lead who owns the vision for it. What's missing is a strong technical partner for her: someone senior who can build the thing, who knows the marketing/sales analytics space well enough to make the vision sharper, and who builds it properly from the start, since the internal version is really v1 of a product customers will end up using.

If you like being handed tickets and closing them, this isn't the right fit. We need someone who owns how it gets built and has real input on what gets built.

Overlap with US West Coast (Pacific Time) business hours is required.

# What you'll do

- Build the product end to end: Rails on the backend, VueJS/React on the frontend.
- Work closely with the product lead, turning her vision into something that ships and pushing back when the tech says otherwise.
- Work out how we collect, store and serve the data so it stays fast and reliable as it grows.
- Build the reports, funnels and metrics that marketing and sales people will actually use to make decisions.
- Keep the roadmap moving without waiting to be handed the next task.
- Build it to hold up once it goes public: multi-tenant, secure, reliable.

What you'll need

- Several years of full-stack work with Rails and Vue.js/React.
- Real experience with large datasets and the problems that come with them: slow queries, storage, aggregation.
- A background in analytics products for marketing or sales, whether that's attribution, campaigns, funnels or pipeline. You understand how these teams read their data.
- You've owned something technically, not just contributed to it.
- Opinions about data, and about what's worth measuring.

# Nice to have

- Taken a product from internal tool to something customers pay for.
- Worked with an analytics store like ClickHouse, BigQuery or Redshift, plus background jobs (Sidekiq or similar).
- Martech or salestech background.
- Been the first or lead engineer on something early-stage.

# Who we're looking for

Skills get you in the door, the fit matters more. This works if you move things forward on your own initiative, can argue your case and then get behind a decision and ship it without turning it into a turf war, and have a feel for what marketing and sales teams need from their data.

In the cover letter please briefly describe most relevant experience building and owning a data-heavy product.
