Looking for an Algorithm Research Engineer for a machine automation project. Project details are shared with shortlisted candidates only.

Hard skills:

• Algorithms and data structures. Graphs (traversal, topological sort, MST, cycle detection), heuristic and combinatorial optimization (greedy, local search, 2-opt), spatial indexing, complexity analysis.
• Advanced mathematics. Calculus; interpolation (splines, smoothing, resampling); approximation theory (error bounds, simplification); regression analysis (least squares, PCA, fitting noisy measurements); optimization (constrained and heuristic).
• Computational geometry. Polygon operations, offsetting, distance transforms, skeletonization, robustness on degenerate input.
• Python. Strong, vectorized numeric code; typed, tested, and reviewable.
• LLM and AI tools (required). Daily use for research, prototyping, and test generation, with rigorous verification of every output.

Soft skills:

• Rational, critical thinking: you challenge assumptions, including your own, and separate what is proven from what is assumed.
• You look for failure modes before building and design fallbacks from the start.
• Clear, concise written communication and honest status reporting.
• Independent work on open research problems, and the judgment to narrow scope when needed.
• Discretion with confidential work.

Technology:

• Core: Python 3.12+, NumPy, SciPy, Shapely 2.x, pyclipper, scikit-image, NetworkX, OpenCV.
• Quality: pytest, Hypothesis (property-based testing), ruff, mypy.
• Platform: Docker, PostgreSQL, FastAPI, Git.

Terms:

• Short-term contract, 2-3 months, with possible extension.
