This is a full-time position that requires working during South Africa business hours (SAST).

Applicants must be available to work full-time within the South African time zone, collaborating closely with the rest of the team throughout the working day. Unfortunately, we cannot consider candidates who are only available outside these hours.

The Role

We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer who is already AI-native in the way they work.

You should have around 5–8+ years of professional software engineering experience and be comfortable turning ambiguous problems into production-ready solutions. We're looking for someone with strong technical judgment, ownership, product thinking, and the ability to use AI as a force multiplier.

What You'll Do

• Build product features and internal tools that improve customer experience and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Operations.
• Use AI throughout the development lifecycle for research, prototyping, implementation, testing, debugging, documentation, and automation.
• Turn loosely defined requirements into reliable, maintainable software.
• Improve engineering quality through sound technical decisions, clean code, and continuous improvement.

• Take ownership of projects from idea to production.

   

What We Mean by AI-Native

We're looking for engineers who naturally integrate AI into their daily workflow.

You should be comfortable using AI to:

• Explore unfamiliar codebases.
• Prototype and iterate faster.
• Generate and improve code.
• Write tests and automation.
• Debug issues and analyze system behavior.
• Automate repetitive tasks.
• Think through product decisions and edge cases.

AI should make you faster without sacrificing quality.

Requirements

• 5–8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong full-stack engineering skills.
• Experience building and shipping production software.
• Practical, daily use of AI development tools.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.

• Good judgment around security, maintainability, and customer impact.

   

Nice to Have

• Experience building internal tools or workflow automation.
• Experience with B2B SaaS, cybersecurity, or data-heavy products.
• Product mindset and strong UX intuition.
• Experience working in small, high-autonomy engineering teams.

• Examples of using AI to significantly improve engineering productivity.
