About the Project

We’re running a live SaaS product – a QR code generation platform – and are looking for a backend developer to join our small cross-functional team.

Tech Stack (Required)

• Python 3 — 3+ years
• Django — 3+ years
• Django REST Framework — 3+ years
• Web development — 3+ years
• Stripe API (and djstripe)
• GitLab

Nice to have

• AWS knowledge (mainly Docker and RDS)

Day-to-Day Focus (based on current goals)

• 90% New feature & API development, improvements to existing features
• 10% Deploy activities, writing tests, assisting with production environment issues, providing backend insight for business requirements

Project Management & Collaboration

• Jira (Kanban-style workflow)
• Slack for communication

Soft Skills (Required)

• Product mindset: focus on building and growing the product
• Accountability & ownership: your code will be customer-facing
• Independent self-management
• Team-oriented mindset
• Spoken English required

Code Quality & Best Practices

• Adherence to coding best practices
• Experience with code reviews and knowledge-sharing

We’re a small SaaS team that’s been working together for 5+ years. No big ceremonies, no heavy frameworks — just Slack, Jira, and people getting things done. What we need now is someone who can keep our process flowing and make sure nothing slips through the cracks.

What you’ll do:

• Keep Jira up to date (move tickets, check statuses, close the gaps devs forget)
• Ping the right people in Slack to keep work moving
• Remind the product owner when tickets/requirements need to be created
• Share light async updates on what’s in progress / what’s next / blockers
• Fit into our current async, Slack-first setup (suggest improvements later, not day one)

What you won’t do:

• Run SCRUM, sprints, or heavy ceremonies
• Own product prioritization — that stays with the co-founders
• Write requirements from scratch (at least initially)

What we expect from you:

• Proactive communication — you’re the one chasing updates, not waiting to be told
• Comfortable working async, but responsive during our core hours (10:00–18:00 EET)
• Hands-on attitude with small teams — no ivory tower PM stuff
• Experience with Jira and Slack (doesn’t have to be deep, just confident)
