Manual QA Tester (Project-Based)
Manual QA Tester (Project-Based)
We're a small, bootstrapped product ecosystem โ currently including a QR code generation SaaS platform, with additional products in active development. We're looking for a Manual QA tester to join our pool of trusted contributors: someone we bring in project by project, feature by feature, as new work comes up across our products.
This is not a fixed-hours role. There's no guaranteed weekly commitment. Instead, you'll be paid per project/feature you test, and โ if it's a good fit on both sides โ you'll be first in line when new work lands. Over time this can mean steady, recurring engagement; it just isn't structured as employment.
What You'll Do (per project)
- Perform regression, acceptance, GUI, smoke, and sanity testing as relevant to the feature, project or deployment
- Run test cases, checklists, and exploratory tests against a defined scope
- Report and track bugs (Jira, jam.dev)
- Update and improve test cases in Qase.io
- Communicate findings clearly with the product/dev team, with a clean handoff at the end of each project
Requirements
- Experience with manual QA testing (test design, bug reports, execution)
- Familiarity with Qase.io (or similar test management tools)
- Strong English
- Comfortable working independently within a defined scope, with minimal onboarding per project
- Kyiv timezone (UTC+2) or close
Nice to Have (But great as a bonus)
- API testing (Postman)
- Experience with AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude) for test case generation
Tools We Use
Qase.io โข Jira โข Slack โข Toggl โข Jam.dev
Work Setup
- Remote, project-based, flexible scheduling within each project's timeline
- Team communicates in English and Ukrainian
- Work spans multiple products in our ecosystem โ expect some context-switching between projects rather than deep specialization in one product
Application Process
- Video (1โ2 minutes):
- In English: What motivates you to be a QA tester?
- In Ukrainian: What is your current career challenge, and what are you doing about it?
- (Simple phone recording is fine. Share via Dropbox or similar.)
- Resume review
- Short paid test assignment (scoped, so you can see how we work and we can see how you work)
4. Decision & pool onboarding
