Loio helps small businesses in the US close deals successfully through fair agreements and clear documents. Our users are small business owners, startup teams, agencies and freelancers: anyone who makes deals without a legal department. A studio signing its first big client, co-founders splitting equity, a team hiring its first contractor. We’re looking for an editor-in-chief to launch our media, build the editorial team, and own the result: content that brings people to the product. We don’t need another rower. We need a captain who sets the course, assembles the crew and steers the ship toward our North Star.

Why it matters. Every day, someone in America downloads a random contract template, skims half the clauses and signs blind. Then a client doesn’t pay, a customer poaches an employee, or a contractor ends up liable for someone else’s mistake. You’ll build the media that helps people understand what they sign and protect their money. There’s a simple, useful product behind it. Your job is to make sure people find it.
 

What you’ll do:

• Launch Loio’s brand media: define sections, formats and voice, ship the first pieces.
• Build our SEO content: hundreds of pages on contract clauses, contract types and industries. Make them useful to people, not just to search engines.
• Build the team: lead our UX writer and SEO writers, help them grow, hire more writers and legal reviewers, and own the team’s output.
• Set up the editorial standards and process: how we write, who checks legal accuracy, and how a piece gets from idea to publication. Own on-time, error-free delivery.
• Watch the numbers: traffic, sign-ups, returning users. Decide what to double down on and what to stop.
• Make sure meaning, design, interface, legal risk and user behavior fit into one whole. Not doing everything personally, but understanding each part well enough to brief specialists.
   

The hard parts, upfront:

The team is still taking shape. Today a UX writer and a few SEO writers work on our content, but there are no shared standards or editorial process yet. You’ll lead them: set up the process, help the writers grow, and decide who else to hire. Expect a lot of hands-on editing in the first months.

It’s a legal topic. A mistake in an article costs the reader money. You’ll need to set up legal review and be patient with sign-offs.

The audience is American. You either write at a native level yourself or can hire people who do and tell great English copy from mediocre.

Results are measured in numbers. Good writing is the means. Together we’ll track whether content brings people in and brings them back.
 

Who we’re looking for:

• You have 5+ years of editorial and content marketing experience.
• You’ve run an editorial team or launched brand media: you’ve hired writers and owned what shipped.
• You’ve grown SEO content and can show how it grew.
• You read and write English fluently.
• You enjoy digging into complex topics and explaining them simply.
• Not a fit if you only want to write and don’t want to manage. This is a captain’s job, not a writer’s.
