Key Responsibilities
- Social Media Content Creation: Develop engaging assets for social platforms – including attention-grabbing images, GIFs, short video snippets, memes, and stories.
- Promotional Art & Posters: Create high-quality promotional artwork using in-game screenshots, provided assets, or original illustrations.
- Store Page Visuals: Design store assets (e.g., capsule images, banners, thumbnails) for platforms such as Steam.
- Basic Video Editing: Produce simple video clips and highlight reels to showcase gameplay and features.
- Press Kit & Print Materials: Develop visual content for press kits, flyers, and other promotional documentation.
- Emotes & Stickers: Design expressive emotes and stickers for use on community platforms like Discord and Twitch.
- Maintain Visual Consistency: Ensure all materials adhere to the game's established aesthetic and brand guidelines.
- Iterate Based on Feedback: Collaborate with team members and revise work based on input and evolving needs.

Litio Games is an independent studio focused on deeply atmospheric horror experiences. We’re looking for a Level Designer to help construct unsettling, labyrinthine environments that promote tension, disorientation, and strategic exploration. In this role, you’ll design layouts that serve as the backbone of suspenseful gameplay, emphasizing player navigation, pacing, and psychological discomfort.

Responsibilities
- Design Structured, Tension-Filled Environments: Create detailed level layouts that encourage player separation, increase navigational pressure, and support claustrophobic, high-stakes exploration.
- Structured Iteration Based on Feedback: Develop levels using a waterfall-inspired pipeline: concept, layout definition, design pass, and refinement—incorporating feedback at clearly defined stages.
- Establish Gameplay Flow and Encounter Spaces: Integrate player movement, pacing beats, and moment-to-moment tension into the layout, ensuring both challenge and navigability.
- Design Alternate Layouts (e.g., Nightmare Versions): Plan spatial and functional variations of environments to support dual-world gameplay, psychological disorientation, and dynamic threat strategies.
- Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with game designers, tech artists, and level artists to ensure technical feasibility and fidelity to narrative and gameplay goals.
- Support Navigation-Driven Storytelling: Design spatial logic, transitions, and layouts that align with the story experience, while leaving visual storytelling and asset placement to the Level Art team.
- Contribute to Playtesting Strategy: Provide design intent documentation and support structured testing phases to validate level usability and gameplay goals.
Ideal Candidate Has…
- 3+ Years of Experience: In level design, ideally in horror, immersive sims, survival games, or other tension-driven genres.
- Unreal Engine 5 Expertise: Strong proficiency in level building, Blueprints, lighting, and performance considerations.
- Deep Understanding of Player Psychology: Especially how space, sound, and ambiguity can evoke discomfort, dread, and curiosity.
- Collaborative Work Style: Comfortable coordinating with art and tech disciplines to ensure designs fit technical and aesthetic goals.
- Comfort with Waterfall Design Methodology: Able to work through defined phases of layout development and feedback cycles.
- Experience With Navigation-Oriented Level Challenges: Familiarity with building maze-like, layered environments for single-player or co-op navigation under pressure.

What You’ll Do- Model and texture hero-quality hard-surface props for real-time use in Unreal Engine 5. This includes:
- Player tools (with functional state variations)
- Equipment
- Environmental interactables
- Interpret briefs, blockouts, and real-world reference material to create highly readable, grounded assets that support gameplay clarity and immersion.
- Deliver game-ready assets, including:
- Clean topology
- Optimized UVs
- Efficient, realistic PBR texturing
- LODs where applicable
- Performance-optimized exports for UE5
- Collaborate with the Art, Tech Art, and Lighting teams to ensure technical integrity and visual consistency.
- Participate in weekly check-ins for structured feedback and alignment.
Requirements
- Strong portfolio showcasing:
- High-quality hard-surface models with realistic PBR textures
- Grounded, real-world references over stylized or sci-fi work
- Proficiency with industry-standard tools (e.g., Blender, Maya, 3ds Max, ZBrush, Substance Painter, Marmoset)
- Experience with game asset preparation: clean topology, proper UV layout, and texture optimization
- Ability to follow direction and adapt to an established art style
- Clear communication and a constructive approach to feedback
Nice to Have
- Experience creating assets in contemporary or near-future, reality-based aesthetics
- Familiarity with Unreal Engine 5 workflows, including:
