Position: Backend Team Lead (Go / Distributed Systems)

About the Role:
 We are looking for an experienced Backend Team Lead to guide the development of the Payera Payments Gateway. You will lead the engineering efforts on our core payment processing services, ensuring reliability, compliance, and scalability. You will own the architecture of our Go microservices, utilizing Temporal.io for complex payment workflows and Kafka for event streaming. You will bridge the gap between architectural decisions and daily code delivery.

Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership: Lead a team of Go developers, conducting code reviews and ensuring adherence to Clean Architecture principles.
Architecture & Design: Design scalable payment processing services and integrations with external Payment Service Providers (PSPs) and APMs.
Workflow Orchestration: Oversee the implementation of robust payment flows (cascading, 3DS, recurring) using Temporal.io.
CI/CD & Environment Management: Collaborate with DevOps to maintain the health of the dev-integration environment and ensure smooth promotions via TeamCity from dev to qa to prod.
Compliance & Security: Ensure all backend code meets PCI DSS standards.
Database Collaboration: Work closely with the DBA to offload complex data-crunching logic into Stored Procedures, ensuring the Go application remains lightweight and efficient.

Requirements:
Expert-level Go (Golang): 5+ years of experience building high-throughput backend services.
Distributed Systems: Deep understanding of Microservices, Kafka (ESB), and Event-Driven Architecture.
Workflow Engines: Hands-on experience with Temporal.io is highly desirable.
Infrastructure: Familiarity with AWS, Kubernetes, and Docker Compose.
Domain Knowledge: Experience in Fintech, Payments, or high-security transaction systems.

We are looking for a hands-on DBA / Database Developer who will be an integral part of our development pipeline. You will not only manage the health of our PostgreSQL clusters but also actively contribute code to the database layer. You will write and maintain complex Stored Procedures (PL/pgSQL) to handle critical transactional logic directly within the DB, ensuring high performance and data integrity for our payment gateway.

Responsibilities:
Database Development: Write, optimize, and version-control Stored Procedures (PL/pgSQL) and functions to encapsulate complex business logic (e.g., recursive payment cascading, financial reconciliation) within the database.
Pipeline Integration: Participate in the GitLab development workflow. You will review migration scripts created by developers and commit your own database code (procs, views, triggers).
OLTP Management: Manage AWS RDS/Aurora PostgreSQL instances for the core payment gateway, ensuring High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR).
Performance Tuning: Analyze slow queries, optimize execution plans, and refactor existing SQL/PL/pgSQL to maximize throughput.
Data Warehouse Ops: Maintain the DW schema and oversee data pipelines using Airbyte, dbt, and Kestra.
Security & Compliance: Implement strict access controls, auditing, and row-level security where needed to satisfy PCI DSS.

Requirements:
PostgreSQL Expert: Deep knowledge of Postgres internals and advanced SQL.
PL/pgSQL Proficiency: Strong experience writing complex Stored Procedures, Triggers, and Functions. You treat database logic as code (versioning, testing).
Data Engineering Tools: Experience with dbt and ETL/ELT tools like Airbyte or Kestra.

Requirements:

• Proven track record building and maintaining enterprise‑grade applications with Spring Framework/Spring Boot.
• Expertise in designing and maintaining RESTful APIs, and familiarity with GraphQL or gRPC.
• Strong SQL/NoSQL experience, including schema design, query optimization and performance tuning.
• Hands‑On experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems design, including event‑driven patterns and domain‑driven design (DDD).
