About the position

We are looking for a Middle UAV Systems Engineer to strengthen the engineering team developing, integrating, configuring, and testing onboard UAV systems.

The role combines embedded software development, UAV avionics, hardware integration, and practical system testing. You will work with onboard computers, flight controllers, sensors, communication interfaces, and related software, helping ensure that individual components work together as a reliable UAV system.

The position is highly hands-on and requires an engineering mindset: the ability to work with real hardware, analyze test results, troubleshoot issues, and iteratively improve the system through bench, simulation, and flight testing.

Must have skills:

• Middle-level experience in embedded software, robotics, UAVs, or a related engineering field
• Good C/C++ skills
• Good Python skills
• Linux / Embedded Linux
• Hands-on experience with microcontrollers and embedded computers / SBCs
• Understanding of digital and analog electronics fundamentals
• Ability to read schematics and datasheets
• Experience with at least some common embedded interfaces: UART, CAN, I2C, SPI, USB, Ethernet
• Hands-on experience integrating sensors or peripheral equipment
• Understanding of flight-controller principles
• Practical familiarity with ArduPilot, PX4, or similar autopilot systems
• Understanding of MAVLink or the ability to become productive with it quickly
• Understanding of UAV navigation and control principles
• Practical hardware/software debugging skills
• Willingness to work not only with code but directly with hardware and to participate in flight testing

Your tasks will include:

About the position

We are looking for a Senior UAV Systems Engineer to take ownership of the technical integration of complex autonomous UAV systems. The role sits at the intersection of UAV engineering, embedded software, avionics, electronics, robotics, and system integration.

You will work across the major layers of the platform — from flight controllers, embedded computers, sensors, cameras, and communication links to Linux applications, MAVLink, ground control software, and onboard autonomy. A key part of the role is understanding how these components interact, troubleshooting issues across hardware and software boundaries, and ensuring that the integrated system performs reliably in simulation, on the bench, and in flight.

We are looking for a hands-on engineer with a strong systems mindset who can own complex technical problems and bring solutions from initial integration through to reliable onboard operation.

Must have skills:

• Senior-level hands-on experience developing and integrating embedded, robotic, or UAV systems
• Real practical experience working with UAVs
• Deep understanding of UAV architecture and flight-controller principles
• Hands-on experience with ArduPilot and/or PX4
• Understanding of flight modes, navigation, attitude/position control, mission execution, failsafe logic, sensor calibration, and state estimation.
• Hands-on MAVLink experience
• Demonstrably strong C/C++ skills
• Demonstrably strong Python skills
• Linux / Embedded Linux
• Hands-on experience with microcontrollers and embedded computers / SBCs
• Experience integrating electro-optical cameras and working with thermal cameras or other imaging sensors
• Understanding of digital and analog electronics
• Ability to read schematics and datasheets
• Ability to independently design relatively simple additional digital or analog circuitry at schematic level when required
• Hands-on hardware debugging using oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and serial/CAN interface tools
• Practical experience with QGroundControl and/or Mission Planner
• Willingness and ability to work directly with hardware and participate in field and flight testing

Your tasks will include:

• Design onboard UAV system architecture
• Integrate flight controllers, onboard computers, EO/thermal cameras, and other sensors
• Integrate autonomous navigation, Computer Vision, and guidance software with the flight controller
• Work with ArduPilot and/or PX4, MAVLink, telemetry, and mission logic
• Develop embedded software in C/C++ and Python for Linux / Embedded Linux and microcontrollers
• Integrate IMUs, GNSS receivers, magnetometers, barometers, cameras, and other navigation sensors
• Work with UART, CAN, I2C, SPI, USB, Ethernet, and other embedded interfaces
• Integrate NVIDIA Jetson, Raspberry Pi, and similar ARM/Linux platforms
• Work with camera interfaces, video pipelines, and streaming
• Customize and integrate QGroundControl and Mission Planner
• Develop diagnostic and service tools
• Analyze telemetry and flight logs and troubleshoot issues across software, electronics, sensors, communications, and configuration
• Prepare and conduct bench, SITL/HITL, and flight testing
• Select components and make system-architecture decisions

About the position

We are looking for a Middle Data Science / Computer Vision Engineer to join a team developing autonomous UAV capabilities for challenging operating environments, including scenarios with limited or unavailable GNSS and operator connectivity.

The role is focused on Computer Vision and Machine Learning for real-world autonomous systems. You will work on algorithms for optical navigation, object detection and tracking, and other perception tasks, with a strong emphasis on deployment to onboard computing platforms and validation in simulation, on the bench, and during flight tests.

We are looking for an engineer who is comfortable working beyond the model itself - analyzing system behavior, investigating test results, identifying root causes, and turning prototypes into reliable solutions that can operate on real UAV platforms.

Must have skills:

• Middle-level experience: approximately 2+ years of practical Data Science / Machine Learning experience with Computer Vision as the primary specialization
• Strong Python skills
• Hands-on experience with PyTorch and/or TensorFlow
• Hands-on OpenCV experience
• Good understanding of modern CNN- and Transformer-based CV architectures
• Practical experience in several of the following areas: object detection, object tracking, classification, segmentation, feature extraction/matching, image registration, motion estimation
• Understanding of Computer Vision geometry: camera models, coordinate systems, camera calibration, transformations, and projective geometry
• Good foundation in linear algebra, probability, and statistics
• Experience with Linux, Git, and sound software engineering practices
• Ability to work with imperfect real-world data collected from field systems and flight tests
• At least an Upper-Intermediate level of English (spoken and written)

Your tasks will include:

• Develop and improve Computer Vision algorithms for UAV applications
• Develop object detection, classification, and tracking algorithms
• Work on optical navigation, Visual Odometry / Visual-Inertial Odometry, feature matching, image registration, and visual localization
• Train, fine-tune, and evaluate models using proprietary datasets
• Build and optimize real-time CV pipelines
• Optimize inference for edge platforms with limited compute resources
• Integrate DS/CV components with navigation, flight controllers, telemetry, and guidance logic
• Participate in simulation, bench, and flight testing
• Analyze failed tests and algorithm degradation, and improve robustness
