Our client builds a high-growth B2B SaaS platform that enables brands to integrate Instagram-style Stories directly into their apps and websites. The product boosts user engagement, retention and advertising revenue, and is used by globally recognised customers, particularly in the sports industry.
Role Overview
We are searching for a strong Senior Android Developer who will work on the core Android SDK, lead end-to-end delivery and contribute to improving engineering practices and architecture across the engineering organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead projects from concept to production
- Improve engineering processes and introduce relevant new technologies
- Translate business requirements into actionable technical plans
- Maintain high coding standards and reduce technical debt
- Mentor less experienced engineers
- Support evolution of DevOps tools and workflows
- Participate in shaping product and system architecture
- Build and maintain reusable components within the Android SDK
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues when needed
- Collaborate with project managers and cross-functional teams
- Take ownership of delivery and outcomes
- Communicate with clients when required
Required Qualifications
- 4–8 years of commercial Android development
- Strong knowledge of Android platform internals
- Excellent Kotlin skills (including Coroutines)
- 2+ years of experience with Jetpack Compose
- Experience with Hilt/Dagger, Gradle, REST APIs, Git
- Familiarity with architectural patterns (MVI, MVVM, Clean Architecture)
- Experience with unit testing and CI
- Strong written and spoken English
Nice to Have
- Degree in Computer Science or related field
- Strong OOP design principles
- Experience building and publishing Android libraries
- ExoPlayer
- Flutter or React Native
- Open-source contributions (GitHub profile is a plus)
