Requirements
 

- 7+ years of backend engineering experience including distributed systems design
- 3+ years in a role with technical leadership responsibilities (team leader, senior leading others, etc.)
- Experience with planning, estimation and delivering complex projects
- Strong understanding of performance optimization and scalability principles
- Confident in owning decisions with business impact
- Able to work under high delivery pressure and manage trade-offs
- Excellent communication skills in English (B2)

Responsibilities
 

- Take full ownership of planning and delivering platform roadmap items
- Lead the backend engineers + QA engineers in the team, organize day-to-day work and ensure predictable delivery
- Plan work for the next quarter and contribute to high-level multi-quarter planning together with Director of Engineering
- Improve delivery accuracy, reduce delays, and manage risks early
- Design and develop scalable high-load backend solutions used across the company
- Optimize data flows, performance, and system reliability
- Drive modernization of legacy services, architecture improvements and technical debt reduction
- Collaborate with product owners, solution architects and other teams on priorities and alignment
- Ensure proper documentation, visibility and knowledge sharing inside the team

The Role:
 

We’re looking for a Senior (Staff) Mobile Engineer to lead frontend development for our iOS and Android applications.

This role is focused on building high-quality, production-ready mobile experiences using React Native, with a strong emphasis on performance, UX polish, and maintainable architecture.

You’ll work closely with product, design, backend engineering, and AI teams to ship features end-to-end, influence technical direction, and help set best practices for mobile development across the company.

What You’ll Do
 

• Own and drive frontend development for our native iOS and Android apps using React Native
• Translate product specs and Figma designs into high-quality, performant mobile UI
• Collaborate closely with backend engineers to integrate APIs, real-time data, and AI-powered features
• Ensure consistency, accessibility, and platform-appropriate behavior across iOS and Android
• Optimize app performance, startup time, and responsiveness on modern devices
• Contribute to architectural decisions, component design, and state management patterns
• Lead code reviews and help maintain the overall quality bar for the mobile codebase
• Partner with QA to support testing, bug fixes, and release readiness
• Support App Store and Google Play release processes and ongoing maintenance

- 6+ years of practical experience in Python 3, ideally in constructing extensive backend services employing contemporary architectures such as microservices and REST APIs. Experience as a lead/architect developer in startups is a big plus.
- Thorough comprehension of design patterns and object-oriented design principles
- Solving technical product management problems, product leadership, building architecture from scratch and architecture issues.
- Familiarity with cloud web services, including AWS, Google, and Azure
- Expertise in integrating with 3rd party services/APIs, including the ability to interpret API specifications and liaise with technical support teams if necessary
- Knowledge of Flask or Django MVC framework is advantageous
- Familiarity with relational databases is considered a positive attribute
- Motivation and experience in architecture are required
