Head of Business / System Analysis

We are seeking a seasoned Head of Business / System Analysis to lead and scale our BA/SA function within the Engineering organization. This is a senior leadership role with ownership of a team of ~10 Business and System Analysts embedded across multiple product domains.

You will serve as the critical bridge between business stakeholders, product, and engineering—ensuring complex business needs are translated into clear, actionable, and well-structured system specifications. You will also elevate the overall quality, consistency, and maturity of analysis practices across the organization

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead, mentor, and scale a team of ~10 Business/System Analysts across multiple product squads
• Define team structure, roles, and clear career progression paths
• Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and development planning
• Hire, onboard, and retain top BA/SA talent aligned with company growth
• Foster a collaborative, accountable, and knowledge-sharing culture

Analysis Practice & Standards

• Define and enforce standards, templates, and best practices across analysis and documentation (BRDs, PRDs, functional specs, API contracts, BPMN, data models)
• Drive consistency and quality across all analytical outputs—from user stories to solution designs
• Establish a strong documentation culture across a 50+ microservices landscape
• Champion modern tools and frameworks (e.g., Figma, BPMN, OpenAPI/Swagger, ClickUp, Confluence-style wikis)

Stakeholder Management

• Act as a trusted partner to senior and C-level stakeholders on system capabilities and requirements clarity
• Facilitate discovery sessions, workshops, and design reviews across business, product, and engineering
• Translate ambiguous business goals into structured, testable, and implementable specifications

Cross-Functional Delivery

• Oversee BA/SA contributions across the full product lifecycle—from discovery to post-release evaluation
• Partner closely with Engineering Managers, Product Owners, and QA to ensure requirement clarity and minimize rework
• Review and approve requirements for complex or high-impact initiatives
• Identify risks, gaps, and ambiguities early in the delivery pipeline

Process Improvement & Governance

• Continuously improve how requirements are gathered, documented, and validated
• Establish quality gates and review checkpoints within delivery workflows
• Lead retrospectives within the BA team to improve efficiency and impact
• Track team performance metrics and provide reporting to engineering leadership

The Ideal Candidate:

Experience

• 5+ years in Business Analysis, System Analysis, or a related discipline
• 3+ years in a leadership role managing analysts or cross-functional teams
• Experience in a product-driven, high-scale tech environment (fintech, banking, or financial services preferred)
• Proven track record managing multiple concurrent initiatives across complex domains

Technical Capability

• Comfortable working with API specifications (REST, OpenAPI/Swagger)
• Proficient in BPMN for process modeling
• Strong understanding of microservices and distributed systems
• Working knowledge of SQL for data validation and analysis
• Ability to engage in technical discussions (data models, integrations, event-driven systems)
• Familiarity with feature flags, rollout strategies, and fallback design

The Role

Were looking for a Full-Stack Product Designer, someone who can take a customer journey from messy problem to polished, shippable design. You'll cover the full stack:

• UX mapping flows, fixing friction points, creating clarity in complex journeys
• UI hands-on in Figma, setting strong visual direction, keeping consistency across screens
• Systems thinking building design frameworks that scale across products
• Delivery working side-by-side with product managers, engineers, and marketers to make sure what ships is what you designed

You wont just be pushing pixels. You'll be in customer interviews, in data dashboards, in design reviews, and in production releases.
 

What you'll do

• Own design for end-to-end journeys (e.g., wallet loan, mobile load, shopping integration)
• Translate customer and business needs into simple, elegant solutions
• Create wireframes, prototypes, and final UI in Figma and ensure they get built right
• Partner with product, UX research, and lifecycle to align design with real customer behavior
• Maintain and evolve our design system for speed and consistency

• Balance speed with craft knowing when to ship scrappy and when to polish

• 5+ years in product design, ideally at consumer tech, fintech, or e-commerce companies
• Strong portfolio showing end-to-end ownership (flows, UX decisions, UI craft)
• Comfort jumping between high-level strategy and detailed design work
• Skilled in Figma (components, auto-layout, prototyping)
• Basic knowledge of usability testing and data-driven iteration
• Great communicator - clear, straightforward, no fluff

Role Overview

Experience

- 5+ years of experience in Business Analysis, System Analysis, or a closely related discipline.

- 3+ years in a leadership or management role overseeing a team of analysts or cross-functional contributors.

- Proven experience working in a product-driven, high-scale technology environment — preferably fintech, banking, or financial services.

- Track record of managing multiple concurrent initiatives across complex domain landscapes.

Business Analysis Skills

- Expert-level proficiency in requirements elicitation, stakeholder management, and documentation.

- Deep experience producing business requirements documents (BRDs), product requirements documents (PRDs), functional specifications, and test scenarios.

- Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies — Agile, Scrum, Kanban.

Technical Depth
