About the Role:

As a Senior Block-Builder Engineer at Eureka, you will own a production-grade, low-latency block-building platform and the systems that extend it: the seal-and-submit critical path, block-construction and bidding algorithms, parallel simulation, secure builder↔relay communication, and the off-chain logic that connects to a new on-chain lending protocol and a trust-minimized (TEE-based) execution model. You'll turn open-ended problems - "how do we decide and bid faster than the competition," "how do we let capital be borrowed and repaid safely inside one block," "how do we prove we behaved honestly without exposing our edge" - into shipped, measurable systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Integrate and process sources: implement order-flow ingestion, bundle and transaction handling, relay submission paths, back-pressure controls, and channel reintegration into each block.
• Develop observability as a product: build and improve Grafana, Prometheus, Loki telemetry, and SQL analytics; identify and fix misleading counters and dashboards.
• Design and run production experiments: configure A/B tests, extract data, analyze results, and report clear conclusions.
• Ensure system reliability: diagnose and fix panics, dropped messages, and latency regressions; author tests to prevent regressions.
• Collaborate on optimization-driven block construction, contributing to protocol-level logic and execution extension (BEX).
• Support the on-chain intrablock lending protocol: implement off-chain and on-chain components within the trusted-execution layer.
• Ramp into the exchange layer: design and maintain high-throughput services that interface with trading systems.

Required Competence and Skills:

• At least 2-4 years of professional software engineering experience, with hands-on experience shipping and operating software in production.
• At least 2 years of experience with Ethereum or EVM-compatible blockchain protocols.
• Production Rust experience is a strong plus. Solid backend or systems engineering experience in Go, C++, or Java, combined with a strong motivation and ability to become productive in Rust, will also be considered.
• Comfort working with concurrent and real-time systems and navigating a large existing codebase.
• Strong data fluency, including SQL and experience working with databases or logs to investigate system behavior and validate whether changes actually improved performance. Comfortable using Python for analysis or tooling.
• Familiarity with or willingness to learn monitoring and analytics tooling, with the ability to identify when metrics, counters, or dashboards may be misleading.
• Careful and data-driven engineering habits: you test your work thoroughly, validate assumptions against production data, and clearly distinguish between what is verified and what is assumed.
• Curiosity and self-direction: you are motivated to investigate why production metrics change, identify root causes, and iterate on solutions rather than simply closing assigned tasks.
• Fluent English communication skills and willingness to work within Eureka Labs’ hybrid office-first model in Poland.

About the Role:

You will become part of an autonomous team focused on building agentic AI capabilities within a production-grade maritime intelligence platform.

As a Senior AI Engineer, you will design, develop, and deploy production-ready AI systems based on LLMs, autonomous agents, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG). You will be involved across the full AI application lifecycle - from experimentation and prompt engineering to scalable deployment, evaluation, monitoring, and continuous improvement.

You will work closely with platform engineers, researchers, and product teams to turn AI prototypes into reliable, secure, and scalable production systems.

Required Competence and Skills:

• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 1.5 years of hands-on experience building production AI applications, with proven experience delivering agentic AI systems used by real users.
• Strong software engineering background in Python or another backend language such as Golang, Rust, TypeScript, Java, or similar, with willingness to work mainly with Python.
• Hands-on experience building agentic AI systems using frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, DeepAgents, OpenClaw, Hermes, or similar.
• Experience deploying and operating production AI services in cloud environments.
• Proven experience designing scalable, event-driven architectures using messaging systems such as SQS/SNS and SQL/NoSQL databases.
• AWS experience is preferred.
• Experience integrating AI agents and AI-powered capabilities into production applications through GraphQL or REST APIs.
• Experience taking AI applications from development to production and collaborating with platform engineering teams on deployment and operations using Kubernetes and Terraform.

You will work on the critical seal-and-submit path, block construction and bidding algorithms, parallel transaction simulation, secure builder-to-relay communication, and the off-chain logic supporting a new on-chain lending protocol and a trust-minimized TEE-based execution model.

A major part of the role is solving complex, open-ended engineering problems: improving bidding speed and efficiency, enabling capital to be safely borrowed and repaid within a single block, and creating mechanisms that prove correct system behavior without exposing competitive advantages.
 

Key Responsibilities

• Build and improve order-flow ingestion, bundle and transaction processing, relay submission flows, back-pressure mechanisms, and reintegration of channels into block construction.
• Develop and maintain observability tooling using Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, and SQL-based analytics, while identifying inaccurate or misleading metrics and dashboards.
• Design and execute production experiments, including A/B testing, data extraction, analysis, and clear reporting of results.
• Investigate and resolve production issues such as panics, dropped messages, latency regressions, and other reliability problems.

Required Competence and Skills

• 2–4+ years of professional software engineering experience, including hands-on experience shipping and operating production systems.

• Production experience with Rust is a strong advantage. Strong backend or systems engineering experience with Go, C++, or Java can also be considered if you are motivated and able to ramp up quickly in Rust.
• Experience working with concurrent, performance-sensitive, or real-time systems and confidence navigating a large existing codebase.
• Strong data skills, including SQL and experience using databases, logs, and production data to investigate system behavior and measure the impact of changes.
• Ability to use Python for analysis, automation, or internal tooling.
• Familiarity with monitoring and analytics tools, or a willingness to learn them, together with the ability to critically evaluate the accuracy of metrics and dashboards.

• Demonstrated low-latency experience: you can describe a real system you made meaningfully faster, how you identified the bottleneck, what you changed, and how you measured and proved the improvement.
