We are seeking a highly experienced technical leader to take ownership of both our forward-looking AI initiatives and the strategic takeover of a mission-critical public safety/mobility platform.

This is a hybrid role bridging executive engineering leadership, AI operationalization, and hands-on solutions architecture. You will be responsible for leading the transition of a complex, mixed-documentation legacy estate (ASP.NET 4.8/WCF) from an external vendor, designing its modernization path to .NET 8, and simultaneously building out production-ready, localized AI/ML capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Platform Takeover & Architecture Modernization

• Map the As-Is: Figure out what is currently running. Map components, integrations, environments, and deployment paths of the vendor-operated platform.
• Own the Modernization Path: Design a phased, risk-controlled architectural roadmap from ASP.NET 4.8/WCF to a clean .NET 8 (LTS) microservices ecosystem.
• Set the Standards: Establish API contracts, coding standards, and Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) to ensure the new internal team operates consistently.

2. Engineering Delivery & DevSecOps

• Execute the software development lifecycle (SDLC) in line with approved governance and Zero Trust security principles.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, AI, Data Science, or a related technical field (or equivalent extensive architectural experience).
• Experience: 10+ years of engineering experience, with 3-4+ years in a dual architecture/AI leadership role.
• Modernization Reality: Proven experience in "vendor takeover" scenarios, legacy decoupling, and migrating legacy .NET to modern frameworks.
• Tech Stack Fluency: Deep, hands-on knowledge across ASP.NET Framework 4.8 + WCF, .NET 8 (LTS), SQL Server, and MySQL.

We need someone who can look at a codebase built by one person under pressure, understand it without judging it, and chart a clear path forward that the whole team can execute.
 

The engagement is a 12-plus month build of a custom internal platform for a US-based IT services company. The platform replaces a third-party PSA system and consolidates billing, ticketing, project management, and service delivery into one product. The company built the foundation themselves because they want a competitive advantage, not a vendor dependency. The existing developer is capable. What the team is missing is someone who can structure the work, raise the quality bar, and translate technical decisions into language that business stakeholders can act on.

About the Role: 

This is a hands-on technical leadership role for a Tech Lead focused on driving the next generation of AI adoption across Coro — both within the product and across the organization.

You will combine technical leadership with execution, helping engineering teams design, build, and scale AI-powered tools, workflows, and systems using LLMs, agents, and intelligent tooling. 

This role is not only about ownership, but also about guiding the technical direction, architecture, and delivery of key internal AI initiatives that improve developer productivity and system quality.

You will work closely with DevEx, Core Engineering, Product, and R&D, leading cross-functional initiatives and helping standardize and scale AI usage across teams — moving from ad-hoc usage to a structured, high-impact AI-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities: 
 

• Lead the technical direction and architecture of internal AI-driven tools and workflows that improve developer productivity and engineering efficiency
• Work closely with Product, DevEx, Core Engineering, and R&D stakeholders, taking ownership of the technical design and delivery of AI tools from conception to post-deployment, helping automate and optimize the daily work of engineering teams
• Work in a modern CI/CD environment, leveraging LLMs and agentic frameworks to improve the developer experience and drive the development of internal AI capabilities such as code review, debugging, and intelligent engineering workflows
• Provide technical leadership and day-to-day guidance to engineers working on AI-related initiatives, supporting design decisions, code quality, engineering standards, and delivery execution
• Stay hands-on when needed by contributing to system design, prototyping, implementation support, and technical problem-solving across key initiatives
• Contribute to the overall technical strategy and roadmap of the internal platform, establishing best practices for building reliable, maintainable, and scalable AI-powered internal systems

Required Competence and Skills:
 

• Proven experience with AI/LLMs, agents, or AI-driven workflows in production
• 7+ years of experience building complex web applications and scalable backend systems
• Previous experience in a Tech Lead, Staff Engineer, Architect, or similar technical leadership role, including initiatives in platform engineering or developer productivity
• Ability to work with engineers, R&D leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders to define productivity goals and design AI-driven solutions
