Project Context: The final client is a U.S.-based independent insurance brokerage serving ultra-high-net-worth clients with Private Placement Variable Annuities (PPVA) and Private Placement Life Insurance (PPLI). We are building a mobile application that provides clients with secure access to policies, statements, documents, and self-service capabilities. The BA will bridge the existing web-based client portal (WordPress/MySQL stack) and the new native mobile product that initially should duplicate web portal functionality, but in the next phases new functionality would be needed. The BA will be responsible for the requirements specification and project documentation creation, aligning the web portal and mobile application in terms of functionality and ensuring clear guidance for the external back-end team (creators of the web portal) for the requested changes needed for the mobile app.

Engagement Type: Contract, part-time involvement, initially for  3-6 months. The specific number of hours required would be clarified later. Initial engagement for the first 1-3 weeks could be close to full-time involvement, but further engagement during the project is expected to be less than 0.5 FTE per week.

Document clarity under regulatory scrutiny: requirements must be audit-ready (The client operates under SOC 2 + NYSDFS — every decision needs a paper trail).

You'll own the flow of incoming requests from our US operations team and our AI tooling into the development team. You decide what's real, what matters, and what gets built, turn the keepers into clear tickets, and are the single point of contact for the people raising requests. • Learn the system deeply and fast. This comes first: you need to study the platform until you can judge requests and make calls on your own, without escalating routine decisions.

• Serving as the primary point of contact for stakeholders to elicit, clarify, and validate complex product requirements;

About the Role

We’re seeking a  Business Analyst/Product Manager to ensure flawless delivery of features to our customers. You’ll work hands-on with development teams to execute the product roadmap defined by our CPO, maintain high quality standards, track team performance metrics, and ensure releases happen on schedule without delays.

This is an execution-focused role. You’ll translate business requirements into technical specifications, manage the delivery process, minimize bugs and incidents, and ensure our customers receive high-quality features on time.

Role Type: Business Analyst (Execution & Delivery focused)

Time Allocation:

Feature Delivery (50% of your time) 

• Manage product backlog for development teams, ensuring 2+ sprints are always groomed 
• Write detailed user stories with clear acceptance criteria and edge cases 
• Conduct bi-weekly sprint planning and weekly backlog refinement sessions 
• Ensure 95%+ of releases ship on scheduled dates - no delays, no excuses 

• Remove blockers proactively to keep teams on track 

   

Technical Documentation (20%) 

• Prepare Business Requirements Documents (BRD) outlining business objectives and scope 
• Write comprehensive Product Requirements Documents (PRD) including:  
• Functional specifications and user flows 
• API specs, data models, integration requirements 
• Technical constraints and performance considerations 
• Acceptance criteria and test scenarios 

• Maintain clear documentation in Confluence for engineering and stakeholders 

   

Quality & Incident Management (15%) 

• Drive bug reduction initiatives - target <3% bug escape rate 
• Manage P0/P1 incidents: triage within 30 minutes, resolve within 4 hours 
• Document post-mortems with root cause analysis and preventive actions 
• Track quality metrics: bug rates, regression issues, technical debt 

• Collaborate with QA on test coverage and automation priorities 

   

Metrics & Reporting (15%) 

• Track team performance: velocity, cycle time, lead time, commitment accuracy

The role will focus on Master Data Management (MDM), data modeling, and data governance, acting as a business counterpart to MDM and data platform teams. The Business Analyst will help translate business needs into clear data requirements, models, and processes, while supporting the development of downstream data structures and ontologies.

Responsibilities:

• Act as a senior business counterpart for MDM, data platform, and Foundry teams, owning the clarification and translation of business needs into actionable data requirements.
• Lead requirements discovery and analysis related to Master Data Management, including master data domains, attributes, relationships, business rules, hierarchies, and ownership.
