The SEM product is embedded within the Geosciences Suite of Applications. This application has multiple views consisting of both 2D and 3D visualizations. The current data visualization is not sufficient for what we would like it to be. To get to this stage, the developers will also need to learn the inner workings of the visualization framework within Geoscience.

• Design and implement database schema changes (MS SQL Server) and maintain Flyway migrations
• Maintain and refactor existing codebases, including legacy Backbone.js modules
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features
• Leverage AI coding agents to accelerate development and enhance code quality
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with Java
• At least 6 months of daily experience using AI coding agents (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor) 
• Strong proficiency in the Spring Framework (Spring MVC, Spring Security, Spring JDBC)
• Experience with MS SQL Server and Flyway database migrations
• Practical experience with React 18, including Redux and component libraries (Material UI or similar)
• Experience with the Gradle build system
• Experience with AWS (S3, SQS, DynamoDB, Lambda) and Azure (Service Bus, Blob Storage) is a plus
• Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes is a nice-to-have
• Upper‑intermediate English or higher
