We're looking for a Senior 3D Environment Artist to join our team and help bring immersive, realistic game worlds to life. 

Key Responsibilities

• Work from concept art or references and model 3D environments and props for games on console and mobile platforms.
• Work within both creative and technical specifications to create high-quality game assets.
• Work as part of a team, collaborating with different disciplines and being proactive in problem-solving technical and artistic.
• Demonstrate creativity and the ability to adapt to various game styles and graphic styles.
• Create artwork with the aim of providing new, exciting, and imaginative experiences for the player.

• Help and mentor Junior members in the team.

   

Qualifications

What you need to succeed:

• +5 years of experience in video game production with a track record of shipped projects.
• A portfolio showcasing realistic 3D environment art, or a clear ability to adapt to realistic visual styles.
• Proficiency in 3ds Max, Substance suite and Z-brush. Blender can be optionally used.
• Skilled in the creation of PBR assets and the PBR workflow in general.
• Good eye for detail and asset organization.
• Knowledge of video game art standards in general.
• Experience with related specializations: Lighting, Animation, Concept art, or Shader creation.

• Functional English proficiency (both spoken and written), with the ability to present and explain your work. 
• Ability to communicate and work across organisations, networks, build relationships, and coordinate with other teams.

• Create high-quality 3D character models based on concept art and design briefs.
• Sculpt, model, and texture realistic characters, creatures, and armor sets.
• Collaborate closely with concept artists, art directors, and integrated artists to ensure characters meet artistic and technical standards.
• Optimize character assets for performance while maintaining artistic integrity.
• Provide feedback and mentorship to junior artists and help uphold the team’s quality bar.
• Contribute to character pipelines, documentation, and best practices.

• Work with animation and rigging teams to ensure proper deformation and functionality.

   

Requirements

Job Description

The Art Director plays a pivotal role in shaping and maintaining the visual identity of the game. This position ensures that all artistic elements meet the highest standards of quality and consistency while aligning with the game’s technical requirements. Acting as a creative visionary and strategic leader, the Art Director guides a specific art team, fosters innovation, and drives collaboration across disciplines. By setting clear artistic benchmarks and introducing cutting-edge practices, the Art Director transforms ideas into visually compelling experiences that resonate with players and elevate the overall production value.

In this role you will:

• Collaborate with multiple teams, including Design, Programming, and Production to develop world-class player experiences
• Be highly creative; Imagine and communicate vision to leadership and the team to develop new content that players will love
• Direct and mentor a worldwide team of artists
• Interpret the needs of all development disciplines, such as Design and Programming, into final artwork
• Deliver effective feedback across all art disciplines - concept, modeling, environment, tech art, lighting, VFX, etc.
• Collaborate with the teams to identify great ideas and steer them through the pipeline, and work within the style of our projects with an eye towards driving the Fortnite brand forward

• Filter multiple sources of analysis and feedback into visual direction for creating new art, and think strategically about art and how it informs the player experience

   

Qualifications

• Experience defining and shipping a product-level vision.
• Strong desire to partner with disciplines outside of Art to create a unified vision.
• Clear understanding and value of art team roles in the player experience.
• Experience as a product-level Art Director or Creative Director in a game studio.
• Strong understanding of art fundamentals, multiple art styles, anatomy, appeal, and storytelling.
• Experience supporting and directing artists across multiple disciplines.
• The ability to adapt to and innovate on new styles and techniques, with a deep understanding of art disciplines and their workflows.
• Strong collaborative nature to partner with art directors, other discipline leads, and production
• Strong leadership skills, with an expectation to guide large teams toward a shared vision.

• Experience with effective feedback for outsourcing and contractors.
