Work Schedule: Full-time, US business hours

About the role
We’re hiring a GCP Data Engineer for a US-based client. Availability during US business hours is required.
You’ll own data pipelines and integrations across many client projects at once, working independently from design to deployment. If you’re comfortable juggling multiple GCP environments and like building practical, cost-efficient data and LLM-powered solutions, we’d like to hear from you.

What you’ll do

• Build and maintain data pipelines in BigQuery: scheduled queries, data transfers and incremental loads
• Develop and deploy services with Cloud Run, Cloud Functions and Cloud Scheduler
• Manage access, secrets and monitoring (IAM, Secret Manager, Cloud Monitoring) across multiple GCP projects
• Integrate external systems via REST APIs, webhooks and SFTP
• Build LLM-powered workflows using OpenAI, DeepSeek and Perplexity APIs, including prompt design

• Ship code with Git and Docker

Must-have

• 2–3+ years as a data engineer working with GCP
• Advanced BigQuery SQL (scheduled queries, data transfers, incremental loads)
• Strong Python
• Hands-on with Cloud Run, Cloud Scheduler, Cloud Functions, Secret Manager, IAM and Monitoring, across many projects at once
• REST APIs, webhooks and SFTP integrations
• Git and Docker
• Production experience with LLM APIs (OpenAI, DeepSeek, Perplexity) and prompt writing
• Able to work independently and manage several client projects in parallel

• Availability during US business hours

Nice to have

• Terraform
• n8n
• Supabase / Postgres
• Clay
• Google Meridian
• Lead scoring or marketing-tech experience

• Track record of reducing GCP and LLM costs

What we offer

• Long-term engagement with a US client
• Fully remote

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Discovery & requirements
- Engage business stakeholders directly to elicit, clarify, and document business requirements.
- Turn ambiguous problems into clear, testable requirements — using AI to accelerate research, drafting, and gap analysis.

Solution design & specification
- Produce technical solutions and specifications: data models, API contracts (OpenAPI), service boundaries, sequence and architecture diagrams.
- Make sound architecture decisions aligned with our microservices, event-driven, and security-first principles, and document the trade-offs.

Build (backend / frontend / mobile)
- Implement backend services in Python and/or Golang on PostgreSQL, with appropriate messaging (Kafka) and caching.
- Build web frontends (Vue/Nuxt or React) and, where needed, mobile features (Android/Kotlin, iOS/Swift).
- Write reusable, testable, efficient code, using AI coding agents to move fast while keeping the codebase clean and reviewable.

Test & quality
- Design and execute meaningful test coverage — unit, integration, API, and end-to-end — leveraging AI-assisted test generation and review.
- Own quality end to end: you are the developer *and* the tester, and "done" means verified.

Ship & operate
- Deliver through our CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code.
- Build observability in at design time (metrics, logs, tracing) and support what you ship.

•
  HOW WE WORK
  - Stack: AWS, Kubernetes, Python & Golang, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Vue/Nuxt & React, Android/iOS, Terraform/Ansible, GitLab CI/CD.
  - Principles: clear and maintainable architecture, security-first, scalability and reliability, high observability and automation, cloud-native and microservices-oriented design, and a strong focus on performance, resilience, and operational excellence.
  - AI-native by default: we expect AI to be part of how you think, design, build, and test — used deliberately and responsibly.

  WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE:
Within your first few months, you independently take a real business need through the full cycle — requirements, spec, implementation across the relevant layers, tests, and a production release with observability — at a speed and quality that would traditionally have required a small team, and you help the rest of engineering raise its AI fluency along the way.

Wearton is a personal stylist app. It finds the user's colours from one selfie, keeps their clothes in a digital closet, and says what to wear for the weather and the events of the day. Hooky, our AI stylist, answers questions in a chat. With virtual try-on, users see a piece of clothing on their own photo.

Wearton runs on iPhone and Android, on the web, as a browser extension (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari) and inside ChatGPT and Claude through an MCP server. All clients are one TypeScript codebase that shares code between them.

We are a small product startup. You will work directly with the founder and own features end to end: API, database, web app, browser extension and mobile app.

What you will do

• Build features across the whole stack: from an API route and a database migration on Cloudflare Workers to the React web app, the browser extension and the React Native app.
• Work with LLMs and image models (OpenRouter, Google Vertex AI): prompts, structured JSON output, daily limits and cost per request.
• Write automated tests with every change (Vitest, Jest, Testing Library, Maestro e2e).
• Ship small changes often through GitHub Actions, and keep the API contract and docs up to date.
• Use AI coding agents (Claude Code) every day as part of the workflow.

Our stack

• TypeScript everywhere
• Mobile: React Native, Expo, Zustand, RevenueCat
• Web app and extension: React 19, Vite, Tailwind CSS v4, Manifest V3
• Backend: Cloudflare Workers, D1 (SQLite) with Drizzle ORM, R2, better-auth
• AI: OpenRouter (GPT, Gemini), Google Vertex AI virtual try-on, MCP
• Analytics: PostHog

Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial development, mostly in TypeScript / JavaScript
• Strong React, and production experience with React Native (Expo is a plus)
• Backend experience with Node.js or serverless (Cloudflare Workers, AWS Lambda), REST API design and SQL
• You write automated tests by default
• Experience with LLM APIs in a production product
• English B2 or higher: code, docs and communication are in English

Nice to have

• Browser extensions (Chrome Manifest V3, Firefox, Safari)
• App Store and Google Play releases, in-app subscriptions
• Consumer apps, fashion or e-commerce

We offer

• Full-time remote work
• Direct work with the founder and real influence on the product
• A modern stack and an AI-first engineering workflow

You'll lead product design at SkinnyRx end-to-end — from defining the problem and shaping the product direction to shipping polished UI.

This is a Lead Product Design role with a strong UI focus. You'll set the bar for visual craft across the product while working shoulder-to-shoulder with our Head of Product and executive team on what we build, why we build it, and how it comes to life.

AI is deeply embedded in how we work. You'll use it across the entire design process — from exploration and content generation to prototyping and production.

What you'll do

• Own product design end-to-end across the SkinnyRx app and web — from problem definition and UX flows to final shipped UI
• Set and evolve the visual design bar for the product, creating a cohesive, high-quality experience across onboarding, patient dashboards, intake, billing, and content surfaces
• Partner directly with the Head of Product and executive team to shape product direction, prioritize opportunities, and turn ideas into shipped experiences
• Generate and art-direct AI-produced content — product imagery, illustration, lifestyle photography, micro-animations, and video — at a quality that feels intentional and distinctly SkinnyRx
• Prototype interactively — in Figma when precision matters and in code via AI tools when realism and speed matter
• Build systems and patterns that let the team move quickly without sacrificing craft or consistency

• Partner closely with engineering, copy, and marketing through tight, iterative shipping cycles

What we're looking for

• 5+ years in product design, with experience owning meaningful consumer product experiences end-to-end
• A standout UI portfolio demonstrating exceptional visual craft and shipped consumer work
• Strong product judgment — you can move beyond executing requirements and help determine what should be built and why
• The ability to operate independently and lead through the work, bringing back thoughtful options rather than blockers
• Deep, daily use of AI throughout your workflow, including:
  • Imagery & video: Midjourney, Sora, Runway, Kling, Nano Banana
  • Code prototyping: Cursor, Claude Code, Codex
  • Design & production: Figma AI, MCP-based workflows

• Comfort moving between product thinking, interaction design, visual design, prototyping, and production details

Why join SkinnyRx

• High ownership and direct influence over the product and design direction
• Work closely with the people making product and technology decisions
• A culture of shipping weekly rather than designing in isolation
• AI-native workflows with a generous tooling budget — if a tool makes you better or faster, we want you using it
• Fully remote and async-friendly, across time zones
• Compensation scaled to your level
