About the role:
We are looking for a Computer Vision / Machine Learning Engineer to develop offline CV models for industrial visual inspection.

Your main task will be to design, train, and evaluate models on inspection data in order to:

• Improve discrimination between good vs. defect samples
• Provide insights into key defect categories (e.g., terminal electrode irregularities, surface chipping)
• Significantly reduce false-positive rates, optimizing for either precision, or recall
• Prepare the solution for future deployment, scaling, and maintenance
•  

Key Responsibilities:
Data Analysis & Preparation
- Conduct dataset audits, including class balance checks and sample quality reviews
- Identify low-frequency defect classes and outliers
- Design and implement augmentation strategies for rare defects and edge cases
Model Development & Evaluation
- Train deep-learning models on inspection images for defect detection
- Use modern computer vision / deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow)
- Evaluate models using confusion matrices, ROC curves, precision–recall curves, F1 scores and other relevant metrics
- Analyze false positives/false negatives and propose thresholds or model improvements
Reporting & Communication
- Prepare clear offline performance reports and model evaluation summaries
- Explain classifier decisions, limitations, and reliability in simple, non-technical language when needed
- Provide recommendations for scalable deployment in later phases (e.g., edge / on-prem inference, integration patterns)

Candidate Requirements:
Must-have:
- 1-2 years of hands-on experience with computer vision and deep learning (classification, detection, or segmentation)
- Strong proficiency in Python and at least one major DL framework (PyTorch or TensorFlow/Keras)
- Solid understanding of:

• Image preprocessing and augmentation techniques
• Classification metrics: accuracy, precision, recall, F1, confusion matrix, ROC, PR curves
• Handling imbalanced datasets and low-frequency classes

- Experience training and evaluating offline models on real production or near-production datasets
- Ability to structure and document experiments, compare baselines, and justify design decisions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; attention to detail in data quality and labelling
- Good communication skills in English (written and spoken) to interact with internal and client stakeholders

Nice-to-have:

Role Purpose

We are working on a critical infrastructure modernization project that involves migrating workloads from legacy data centers to a modern EU-based environment. The goal is to move from a managed virtualized infrastructure to high-performance bare-metal servers, improving stability, optimizing costs, and ensuring GDPR compliance.

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy a high-availability bare-metal cluster (3 nodes, NVMe, RAID, LVM)
• Deploy and manage a self-hosted Kubernetes cluster (k3s) without cloud-managed storage
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Ansible and OpenTofu/Terraform
• Configure Oracle Data Guard for high availability and failover
• Develop a multi-cloud DR process with automated backup validation and RTO testing
• Implement modern network policies and data encryption to meet GDPR standards

Requirements

• Infrastructure: Bare-metal provisioning, Linux system administration, RAID/LVM, performance tuning
• Containerization: Kubernetes (self-managed/k3s), Helm, container runtimes
• IaC: Advanced Ansible, OpenTofu/Terraform
• Databases: Oracle 21c/19c, Oracle Data Guard, RMAN
• CI/CD: GitOps (ArgoCD or similar), automated deployment pipelines
• Monitoring: Prometheus, Alertmanager, OpenObserve

Nice to Have

• Experience with Strangler Fig migration patterns
• Knowledge of storage orchestration on Kubernetes (Rook/Ceph, Longhorn)

• Project Description:

  The SEM product is embedded within the Geosciences Suite of Applications. This application has multiple views consisting of both 2D and 3D visualizations. The current data visualization is not sufficient for what we would like it to be. This role is expected to work with the lead and the product owner to understand the current shortcomings, investigate and research potential solutions, propose these solutions to the teams, and then work on the implementation of the agreed upon work. To get to this stage, the developers will also need to learn the inner workings of the visualization framework within Geoscience.

• Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain graphics-intensive modules within the Geoscience platform using Java and OpenGL.
  • Implement advanced 2D and 3D visualization features for seismic, geological, and geospatial data.
  • Optimize rendering performance and ensure cross-platform compatibility, particularly in Linux environments.
  • Collaborate with geoscientists and software engineers to translate domain-specific requirements into technical solutions.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation to maintain high-quality software standards.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in graphics technologies and geoscience applications.

• Mandatory Skills Description:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Geoscience, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in Java OR C++ development with a focus on graphics programming.
  • Proficiency in OpenGL and related graphics libraries for rendering complex datasets.
  • Strong experience working in Linux environments, including shell scripting and system optimization.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

• Nice-to-Have Skills Description:

  • Experience with geoscience software platforms.
  • Familiarity with geoscience data formats and visualization techniques.
  • Knowledge of additional programming languages such as Python, Java.
  • Understanding of GIS technologies and spatial data analysis.
