What we expect:
- Experience in the payment or fintech sector - understanding of card and wallet services, preferably in the UK market.

- Knowledge of the UK market - experience in localizing financial products for the UK (user journey, KYC, customer service, etc.).

- Deep understanding of UK regulatory requirements - including FCA, EMRs, PSRs, Consumer Duty, AML/CTF, UK GDPR.

- Experience in working with payment systems (Mastercard/Visa), including audit preparation, reporting and compliance with scheme requirements.

- Project management skills - ability to coordinate the launch of new features, product expansion, control timelines, risks, resources.

- Communication skills - the ability to effectively interact with sales, marketing, operations, legal and compliance teams.

- Experience in supporting partnerships - retail, fintech, embedded finance, B2B.

- Analytical skills - the ability to identify bottlenecks, optimize processes based on data, transactions and customer feedback.

Main responsibilities:
- Lead the expansion of card and wallet services across the UK, coordinating market-specific product enhancements, feature launches, and commercial initiatives

- Support the onboarding of high-volume UK clients, embedded finance partners, or direct-to-consumer offerings

- Localise user journeys to reflect UK market expectations — from onboarding and KYC to dispute resolution and customer service

- Work closely with the legal and compliance teams to ensure ongoing alignment with FCA regulations, including Electronic Money Regulations (EMRs), Payment Services Regulations (PSRs), and safeguarding obligations

- Ensure compliance with UK-specific requirements, including Consumer Duty, AML/CTF, right-to-cancel, and data protection (UK GDPR)

- Support audit readiness and scheme reporting obligations for Mastercard/Visa in 

the UK context

- Coordinate go-to-market execution with sales, marketing, and operations teams to 

support customer adoption and usage growth

- Support commercial contracts and onboarding operations with local retail, fintech, 

or B2B partners

- Maintain and report on delivery timelines, risk registers, issue logs, and capacity 

plans

- Deliver concise reporting and executive updates to UK management and cross

functional stakeholders

- Identify optimisation opportunities based on transaction data, customer feedback, 

and operational bottlenecks

This is a hands-on leadership role that requires deep technical expertise, ownership mindset, and strong collaboration across engineering and business stakeholders.

Key Requirements:

🔹5+ years of experience in data engineering, with strong hands-on expertise in building and maintaining data pipelines;
🔹 At least 2 years in a team leadership or technical lead role;
🔹 Proficient in Python, SQL, and data orchestration tools such as Airflow;
🔹 Experience with both SQL and NoSQL databases, such as MySQL, Presto, Couchbase, MemSQL, or MongoDB;
🔹 Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field;
🔹 English – Upper-Intermediate or higher.
