 Mission of the Role

We're seeking a Senior Marketplace Partnerships Manager to build and manage our third-party seller ecosystem. You'll identify, onboard, and nurture brand partners whose products belong in our marketplace—while optimizing their performance and ensuring compliance.

This is an individual contributor role with strategic ownership. You'll report to the Head of Growth and own the full lifecycle: vendor sourcing, commercial negotiation, onboarding, ongoing account management, and performance reporting.

 Key Responsibilities

Vendor Acquisition

• Build and maintain a target list of 100–200 prospective brands across categories: supplements, nootropics, wearables, at-home diagnostics, recovery devices, light therapy, sleep optimization, mental and cognitive health, aesthetic, nutrition protocols and other health and wellness products.
• Conduct proactive outreach (cold email, LinkedIn, intro calls) to generate qualified leads.
• Vet brand product quality, regulatory compliance, and alignment with audience values.
• Convert prospects into active vendors through persuasive pitches and onboarding.
• Analyze marketplace data to identify underrepresented categories or high-demand gaps. Proactively recruit brands to fill those gaps and diversify product offerings.

Commercial Negotiation & Contracting

• Set commission structures by category (typically 10–30% take rate depending on margins and volume).
• Negotiate minimum performance commitments, and payment schedules.
• Draft and manage vendor agreements, including terms for refunds, returns, and brand representation.
• Identify upsell opportunities (featured placements, bundle promotions, event booths).

Onboarding

• Guide vendors through listing setup: product catalogs, images, descriptions, pricing, inventory feeds.
• Coordinate with technical/operations teams on marketplace platform integration (Shopify Plus, WooCommerce).

Account Management

• Serve as primary point of contact for 30–80 active vendors.
• Conduct quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with top performers, sharing sales data and growth recommendations.
• Monitor vendor KPIs: sell-through rates, return rates, customer ratings, response times.
• Address issues quickly: payout discrepancies, stock-outs, customer complaints, listing errors.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years in e-commerce partnerships, marketplace operations, or vendor management
• Proven success building or scaling a third-party seller program with measurable GMV/commission growth
• Comfortable setting commission rates, negotiate terms, and performance commitments
• Familiarity with marketplace platforms (Shopify Plus, WooCommerce, or equivalents)
• Proficient in spreadsheets, dashboards, and basic BI tools for performance analysis
• Clear, persuasive writing and speaking; able to manage vendor expectations professionally
