Project Scope
The role is part of a joint SAP initiative focused on:

About the Role

Join our security team as a hands-on AppSec/DevSecOps engineer in a regulated fintech environment. You’ll work closely with DevOps and engineering to scale application security across an established payment platform — aligned with PCI DSS, PCI SSF, and ISO 27001.

This is a high-ownership role. You’ll be a trusted security partner who turns risk into clear engineering decisions and raises the bar across the SDLC.

What You’ll OwnVulnerability Management

• Drive the full vulnerability lifecycle: intake, triage, prioritization (CVSS + business context), remediation, and validation
• Systematize findings from pentests and QSA assessments; coordinate fixes with engineering
• Maintain the vulnerability register and report regularly to stakeholders

Security Tooling & CI/CD

• Integrate and tune SAST, DAST, SCA, secrets detection, and container scanning with DevOps
• Define and enforce security gates in CI/CD (pass/fail criteria, break-build policies)
• Evaluate new tooling and make the case for adoption

Pre-Release Security Gates

• Define formal release acceptance criteria: policies on Critical/High vulns, scan coverage, sign-off
• Embed gates into the release process; track exceptions and waivers formally
• Contribute SSLC artifacts required under PCI SSF

Application Security Engineering

• Threat modeling during design and architecture reviews
• Secure code reviews and security-focused design consultations
• OWASP ASVS assessments; track maturity via OWASP SAMM
• Mobile security testing with OWASP MASVS (iOS + Android)
• Support external pentests: scoping, briefing, report review, fix validation

Compliance Support

• Provide AppSec/DevSecOps evidence for PCI DSS, PCI SSF SSLC, and ISO 27001
• Partner with the GRC hire on technical evidence and control validation

Secure SDLC & Culture

• Maintain secure coding guidelines and a security requirements library
• Grow our Security Champions network within dev teams

Metrics & Reporting

• Own AppSec KPIs: MTTR by severity, pipeline scan coverage, open/closed findings, pentest and bug bounty trends
• Build dashboards and automate collection wherever possible
• Regular status reports to the Head of IS and CISO

What We’re Looking For

• 2+ years in AppSec, Product Security, or a security-focused engineering role
• Solid grasp of OWASP Top 10 (Web + API), ASVS, and common vulnerability classes
• Hands-on with SAST/DAST tools (Semgrep, Checkmarx, SonarQube, Burp, ZAP) integrated into CI/CD
• Experience with SCA (Snyk, Dependabot, Dependency-Check) and secrets scanning (GitLeaks, TruffleHog)

The Role

You'll be the engineer who owns the infrastructure platform end to end. That means you're not executing a ticket queue — you're deciding how things should be built, calling out what needs to change, and making it happen. We're at a critical point: the foundations are in place and we need someone who can assess where we are, close the gaps, and get the platform ready for production traffic at scale.

You'll work directly with the architect and development team, so you need to be comfortable making technical decisions, defending them, and explaining trade-offs clearly.

- CI/CD pipelines — build, test, and deploy flows for a polyglot microservices backend (Go, PHP) and Nuxt.js frontend

Responsibilities:    

• Cloud Infrastructure Design: Design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and cost-efficient infrastructure using AWS services such , ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, and CloudFront. Balance managed and serverless offerings to deliver high-performance, resilient systems tailored to product needs.   
• Infrastructure as Code: Champion declarative, reproducible infrastructure using tools like Terraform and CloudFormation. Contribute to a culture of GitOps and configuration management that promotes visibility, automation, and reviewability across environments.

We are not looking for a traditional SOC analyst. This role is about building detection systems, not clicking through alerts. You will work with large volumes of logs (cloud, application, network), design detection logic, and improve it over time. That includes both rule-based detection (SIEM/XDR) and data-driven approaches (statistical models, anomaly detection, simple ML where it makes sense). You should be comfortable treating logs as a data problem, not just a monitoring stream.

Important! This is not a role where you:

• sit in SIEM all day clicking alerts
• blindly add rules
• overcomplicate things with ML

This is a role where you: build detection systems that work in practice.

What you'll be doing

Detection & analytics

• Build and maintain detections across:
• application logs (auth, APIs, business logic abuse)
• cloud activity (CloudTrail, IAM, infrastructure changes)
• network telemetry (DNS, proxy, firewall, NetFlow)
• Work directly with data in platforms like Elasticsearch / Splunk / similar
• Write and tune detection logic (queries, correlation rules)
• Reduce noise — expect to spend time fixing false positives, not just adding new rules.

Working with data (this is a big part of the job)

• Build pipelines for:
• log ingestion
• normalization
• feature extraction
• Work with streaming or batch pipelines (Kafka / queues / scheduled jobs)
• Turn raw logs (e.g. CloudTrail) into structured data usable for detection.
