Requirements

• Experience: 5+ years in Product/UX Design, including 3+ years leading design teams in Fintech, Banking, or Crypto.
• Regulated Products: Experience delivering financial products in multiple jurisdictions while maintaining usability.
• Portfolio: A strong body of work showcasing strategic thinking, product design, and brand execution.
• Collaboration: Comfortable presenting bold directions to founders, engineers, and stakeholders.

As an Embedded Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing and deploying different modules/components and models on a variety of edge devices. You will be responsible for designing and implementing robust data processing pipelines that can seamlessly integrate with these edge systems and the cloud, ensuring efficient and reliable model deployment across the edge-cloud continuum.

You will also be comfortable working with both microservices and monolithic architectures, allowing you to adapt to the unique requirements of each project.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Proficient in Python, C/C++, and professional knowledge of embedded systems programming.
• Extensive experience in developing and deploying machine learning models on edge devices.
• Deep understanding of message brokers, sockets, and technologies like ZeroMQ, RabbitMQ, or Apache Kafka for building scalable and efficient edge and cloud data processing pipelines.
• Expertise in designing and implementing robust data processing pipelines that can seamlessly integrate with edge devices and cloud infrastructure, handling various data types such as images, videos, text, and audio.
• Familiarity with microservices and monolithic architectures, and their tradeoffs in the context of edge-cloud communication and data flow.
• Familiarity with sensor data acquisition, preprocessing, and integration techniques for edge devices, leveraging protocols like SPI, UART, I2C, and more.
• Experience with container technologies (e.g., Docker, Podman) and container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes, OpenShift) for deploying and managing edge and cloud-based ML inference services. 
• Knowledge of CI/CD tools and practices, such as Jenkins, Travis CI, or GitHub Actions, to automate the deployment of ML models across the edge-cloud continuum.
• Understanding of edge computing challenges, including resource
  constraints, power management, latency, and offline operation.
  Experience with embedded operating systems, such as Linux (Raspbian, Ubuntu Server) and real-time OSes (e.g., FreeRTOS, NuttX), and their integration with edge ML inference services.
• Proficiency in embedded systems programming, including low-level hardware interaction, device drivers, and firmware development for seamless data exchange between edge devices and the cloud.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to think critically and find creative solutions for edge-cloud ML deployments.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience working with UAVs, drones, or flight controllers, and their integration with embedded AI systems for real-time inference and data processing.
• Knowledge of digital video (HW, protocols, processing, encryption).
• Familiarity with edge-cloud synchronization protocols and mechanisms, such as MQTT, CoAP, or AMQP, for efficient and reliable data transfer between the edge and the cloud.
• Knowledge of robotic frameworks (e.g., ROS, ROS2, Ardupilot) and their application in edge-cloud computing environments for robotics and autonomous systems.
• Experience with time-series data analysis and anomaly detection on edge devices, and integrating these insights with cloud-based data analytics and visualization platforms.

We are looking for a Technical Support Manager to build and lead the support organization from the ground up. You will be the first operations hire — responsible for assembling the team, designing processes, setting up tools, and launching 24/7 support operations. 

You will manage two teams: 

- Technical Operations Engineers — L2-level technical specialists handling platform monitoring, incident response, and API troubleshooting. 

- L1 Support Specialists — first-line support handling triage, basic troubleshooting, and ticket routing.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys building from zero, not just managing what already exists. 

Please note that this is a full-time on-site position in our Lviv office.

Position Requirements

Must have:

• 3-5 years of experience in technical support or IT operations, with at least 1-2 years in a Team Lead or Manager role.
• Hands-on experience building support processes from scratch.
• Experience managing 24/7 shift-based teams — scheduling, rotation, burnout prevention.
• Understanding of incident management frameworks (ITIL, PagerDuty/Opsgenie workflows, SLA design).
• Technical depth sufficient to mentor L2-level engineers: REST API debugging, log analysis, basic SQL, monitoring dashboards.

• Lead architecture & platform evolution. Act as a key architect for the future state of our systems. • Raise engineering excellence & developer experience. Continuously improve how we build. Identify bottlenecks, reduce friction, and drive initiatives that increase team productivity. Champion high engineering standards through RFCs, post-mortems, and quality frameworks (instrumentation, evaluations), ensuring we build the right things in the right way.
• Operate as a multiplier. Extend your impact beyond your own work. Mentor and influence Senior Engineers, Tech Leads, and Engineering Managers, contribute to hiring, and elevate the overall technical bar. Stay hands-on for the most complex and high-impact challenges, leading by example where it matters most.

• Drive technical decision-making. Own critical technical and strategic decisions, including build-vs-buy trade-offs. Lead tooling and vendor evaluations with a clear understanding of total cost of ownership, ensuring decisions align with both technical needs and business goals.

What you’ll be doing:

You will work in a cross-functional team alongside the Product Manager, Product Designer, UX Writers, Data Analytics, Technical Leads, Engineers and other cross-functional team members to deliver engaging features through A/B tests and build top-notch products, including, but not limited to:

• Develop and own backend features using Python/Django, supporting the creation of new backend services as well as design, create, and/or troubleshoot integrations with third-party vendors.
• Think beyond the code and about our customers, understand their needs, and define solutions with the team;
• Balance short-term speed of development with the long-term technical quality of our systems;

• As a Senior Engineer, you will leverage your experience to guide the team in making informed technical decisions, such as continuous improvement of best practices (test culture, code reviews, monitoring and scalability of our tools). 

   

What you need to succeed:

• Exposure to architectural patterns of a large, high-scale web application (e.g., well-designed APIs, high-volume data pipelines, efficient algorithms);
• Familiar and willing to support small JS/TS tasks when needed;
• Expertise in troubleshooting issues, identifying the root cause, mitigating it, and setting up safeguards to prevent future issues;
• High level of self-organization, ownership, and responsibility;
• A great collaborator with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Minimum B2 English level;

• Willingness to be on-call for your squad (1 week every 5 weeks).

Project Description

Development of a portable, high-fidelity audio device integrated with AI assistant capabilities. The project focuses on creating a high-performance consumer electronics product with a focus on quality sound and battery efficiency.

What will you do

• Developing circuitry solutions and PCBs for battery-powered wearable device;
• Developing schematic diagrams according to technical specifications and routing 4+ layer boards accordingly;
• Writing technical documentation for the developed devices (documentation for manufacturing, assembly, testing, manuals, etc.);
• Providing technical consultation during the testing phase and introduction to production;
• Providing technical support during the mass production phase (in case issues are identified);
• Designing PCBs to fit within ready-made enclosures;
• Selecting optimal components during PCB development;
• Adhering to standards and regulations during the design process;
• English Proficiency: Upper-Intermediate (B2). Ability to conduct technical discussions, participate in meetings, and write professional documentation/emails for international clients.

• Experience in routing 4-6 layer printed circuit boards (PCBs) and bringing them to mass production;
• Experience with "dense/miniature" designs (e.g., smartwatches, wearables, SoM carriers);
• Experience designing and routing rigid-flex printed circuit boards (PCBs);
• Experience working with RF (radio frequency) circuits and high-frequency signals;
• Experience designing devices with consideration for certification requirements (LVD, EMC);
• Experience in preparing documentation for PCB manufacturing and assembly;
  English Proficiency: Upper-Intermediate (B2). Ability to conduct technical discussions, participate in meetings, and write professional documentation/emails for international clients.

• Proven experience leading complex, ambiguous, or greenfield projects end-to-end
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills (English level B2+)

• Willingness to be on-call for your squad (1 week every 5 weeks).

• Side projects or product ownership experience.
• Experience designing systems for marketing attribution, experimentation platforms, or recommendation engines.

The Preply Engineering Team provides the tools to help unlock human potential through learning. We implement A/B tests to prove the value of our initiatives and improve our product based on data and students’ and tutors’ feedback. As part of our commitment to ensuring high-quality products, we prioritize monitoring and metrics analysis to identify areas for optimization and ensure our services are performing at their best.

As a Senior II Backend Engineer, you’ll set the technical direction, lead cross-functional projects, and build systems that power Preply’s global growth engine. Your work will shape how millions of learners connect with tutors worldwide, tackling challenges that are complex in scope and critical to our success.

We are tech-agnostic, meaning we are open to considering candidates with diverse technology backgrounds, such as Java/Spring, Node.js/Express.js, Ruby/Ruby on Rails, Scala/Play, PHP, or Golang.

While Python is our primary programming language, prior experience with it is not mandatory. What truly matters is your enthusiasm for learning Python and your ability to adapt quickly to using it for product development.

What you’ll be doing

• Own and drive technical vision across squads
• Develop and own backend features using Python/Django, supporting the creation of new backend services as well as design, create, and/or troubleshoot integrations with third-party vendors.
• Scope and lead cross-functional initiatives involving design, data, product, security, and other engineering teams.
• Design and implement scalable backend systems, data pipelines, and integrations with third-party platforms
