Back-end Engineer (Node.js / AWS Serverless)

About the project: A cloud-based, AI-driven analytics product for financial data. The product is at the alpha stage. You will work alongside the product team to get it ready for release.

Required skill set:

• 5+ years of commercial experience with Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with AWS.
• Experience with AWS Lambda and serverless development.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and/or DynamoDB.
• Experience in developing RESTful APIs.
• Good understanding of cloud architecture and scalability.

Will be a plus:

• TypeScript.
• Infrastructure as Code (AWS CDK, SAM or Terraform).
• Experience in FinTech.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools (Claude Code, Copilot, etc.).

Responsibilities:

• Development of the back end of a cloud-based solution on AWS.
• Designing and implementing serverless functions.
• Database design and query optimisation.
• Code reviews and ensuring code quality.
• Collaboration with the product team, front-end and data engineers.
• Participation in technical design discussions.
