Mobile QA Automation Engineer (React Native, iOS / Android)

About the project
A trading exchange platform with a mobile application for iOS and Android, built with React Native. The product is actively growing, and the team is now investing in quality at the mobile level. There is currently no automated test coverage and no test stack has been chosen yet, so you will build mobile automation from scratch, including selecting the tools and approach.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate options and choose the mobile test automation stack (tools, language, device strategy), and justify the decision to the team;
• Design and build a mobile test automation framework from scratch for the React Native app (iOS and Android);
• Automate critical user flows and build a stable regression suite;
• Run tests on emulators, simulators and real devices (or a device cloud);
• Integrate automated tests into the CI/CD pipeline;
• Analyze test results, investigate flaky tests and keep the suite stable;
• Work closely with developers and manual QA, help define test strategy and release criteria;

• Document the framework and help the team adopt it.

   

Requirements

• Commercial experience in mobile test automation for iOS and Android;
• Hands-on experience testing React Native applications;
• Experience setting up a mobile automation framework from scratch, including choosing the tooling;
• Hands-on experience with mobile automation tools (for example, Appium, Detox, Maestro, XCUITest, Espresso) and understanding of their trade-offs;
• Solid programming skills in at least one language (TypeScript/JavaScript, Python, Java or Kotlin);
• Experience integrating tests into CI/CD (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins or similar);
• Good understanding of test design, test pyramid and regression strategy;

• Experience with real devices, emulators/simulators or cloud device farms (BrowserStack, Sauce Labs or similar).

   

Will be a plus

• Experience with Detox specifically;
• Experience with API testing (Postman, REST);
• Experience in fintech, trading or other high-load financial products;
• Experience with performance or load testing;
• Experience introducing QA processes and mentoring colleagues.
