Senior Software Engineer (Hybrid Warsaw, Poland)

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the SDK team of a global leader in AI-powered test automation, whose visual AI testing platform is trusted by enterprises and startups worldwide, including many of the world’s largest companies.

This role involves building and owning the SDKs that bring visual and functional testing into customers’ existing test suites, with a strong focus on JavaScript/TypeScript, browser internals, and the Chrome DevTools Protocol. The SDKs integrate with the frameworks developers already use, including Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, WebdriverIO, Puppeteer, Appium, and Storybook. You’ll help design and maintain a clean, stable public API that thousands of CI pipelines depend on every day, working closely with the engineering group as an integrated member of a hybrid team.

About the project:
Think of the SDK as a “programmatic frontend” for the platform: not a UI, but a public API used at massive scale. JavaScript/TypeScript is the core development environment, with SDKs also available for Java, Python, .NET, and Ruby.
The team relies on a minimal set of third-party libraries and builds most of the core functionality in-house.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to the architecture and implementation of the SDKs.
• Own the full development lifecycle of advanced JavaScript libraries that integrate with test frameworks, user applications, and server APIs.
• Design APIs and communication protocols with a focus on performance and asynchronous flows.
• Integrate with leading test automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Puppeteer, WebdriverIO, Selenium, Mocha, and Jest.
• Build tooling that leverages browser internals and the Chrome DevTools Protocol (CDP).
• Use Claude and agentic workflows as part of your everyday development process to speed up development, testing, and debugging.
• Investigate and resolve complex issues that surface only in customers’ environments.
• Take on independent research tasks, from evaluating browser automation approaches to improving performance on mobile platforms.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and QA to ensure technical quality and smooth delivery.

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on industry experience developing and maintaining production-grade software in a product environment.
• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript.
• Experience with Node.js and NPM tooling.
• Familiarity with test automation frameworks or the Chrome DevTools Protocol.
• Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools in your daily workflow to accelerate development.
• Proven experience working in hybrid or extended teams, collaborating day to day with engineers in another country.
• Excellent written and spoken English, with clear, confident verbal communication.
• A true team player who communicates openly and takes shared ownership of results.
• Based in Warsaw and able to work from the office 3 days per week.

Will be a plus:

• Understanding of browser architecture (DOM, rendering, caching).
• Experience with MCP, LLM agents, or tool-calling integrations.
• Contributions to open-source projects and developer communities.
